There will always be poop in your gravel as long as you have fish. Forget the water changes, they are pretty useless... instead, take 15% more water out when you vacuum (if you vacuum out 10% of the water, now vacuum out 25%). This will remove more of the crap, and replace your water changes. By vacuuming your gravel, you are removing water, that is a water change in itself, it is just more useful than a normal water change because in normal water changes, you aren't removing all the waste... if you really wanted to, you could vacuum your gravel daily, but it is more practical to vacuum out 25% of your water weekly. Email me if you have any questions.

I asked a pet store one time if i was using my gravel vacuum right because i always had stuff floating after i was done and they told me you will never get it all and you don't want to because some of it in the tank is beneficial. I have a 29 gallon and i use my vac ever sat or sun. And all my fish and frogs are doing great.
