So,I'm making a 12' diameter,4' deep pond for 3 fairly exceptional goldfish. They deserve better than the 100 gallon home they've got now. =)

My question is: Should I get a custom built pre-formed one? Should I get liner and just line the ground?

Or should I use concrete/cement?

I have a green terror since last november & it is still shy with me, even though he is king of the aquarium. Is it shy by nature or it'll take for him time to get free. Earlier I har an oscar which was very bold, I used to play with him, wherever i touched on the glass he used to follow it. I even used to handfeed him. he even jumped out of water to get food. But this GT never did so.

I have a 2month old redfin shark that is supposed to grow to 6 inches he's probably only about 2 1/2 inches now but I'm leaving him in a 1gallon aquarium do you think that matters? Will he just stay the size he is now? And when lights are on and in the day he NEVER comes out from underneath these big rocks and just acts scared and dead what can I do so I get to see him sometimes? I don't wanna take the rocks out either they're pretty...

Some people say yes and some say no but I have no idea what thes people find to be acceptable. Also some people say that the crabs must be able to get to the surface and others say that the crabs can live their whole lives submerged. Who is right?

I've been wanting to start a discus tank, but don't know too much about special requirements. Are they pretty hardy fish? How many can I put in a 55 gal. tank...and can I add them all at once, or only a couple at a time? Is reverse osmosis a requirement? I have a lot of experience with aquariums...but not discus. How do they compare to plain tropical fish and Oscars as far as hardiness? Can they handle variation in water parameters?

I thought about raising a trout, but that will be a pain for my first time raising some fish. I want some sort of warm water fish, not tropical, something like a bass, carp or cat fish, maybe something like a croppie. I have room for a 4 foot long tank, by 2 feet wide, and have enough height, So, i want a couple of fish that will work with that size restraint. Money isnt the problem, but I cannot go bigger than that. Any ideas of fish that would work out? I dont need multiple types of fish. I really like fish, so I think an aquarium would be cool to have. I work from home, so having some fish to look at would be nice. Also, if there is a good website with the names, pictures and some info about the fish for me to peruse, that would be cool as well. Any feedback is welcome!

I just moved my goldfish to a much larger tank and the largest one won't stop racing back and forth from one end to the other. He's freaking out the other fish who are hiding from him. He's been doing this for hours. Is he ok, and will he settle down?

I moved them from a 10 gallon tank to a 55 gallon one. The large one is 7 1/2" long, and the others are 3" long.

I have tried finding on the net some idea of what kind of oscar fish I just purchased. Of course at the pet shop the label simply said oscar. the coloration is unlike any I have seen before. The bodies are mostly turquoise with gold stripes and hues of blue and purple(depending on the angle of the light). I have seen "blueberry" oscars and mine are different in that they have absolutly no red or orange coloration. Like most oscars they do change to an almost pale white whenever i clean the tank. Thanks to anyone with any info on my question.

I have a 20 gallon freshwater tank. I am looking for a catfish to eat the algae off the walls and keep the tank clean. I do not want a sucker fish (my girlfrind wants a catfish, lol). What are the best ones? What website can I purchase them at? Also, any suggestions about bottom feeders?
