This strange behavior doesn't happen all day, but it's been happening for the last couple of days. He just floats (belly-down) on the bottom with his face stuck in the ground. He seems healthy otherwise. He eats, swims normally, and responds to a mirror. Should I be worried?

i am so confused. ive always done a water change and vacume to my tanks once a week. but when i went to my local pet store and picked up my panda oranda they said to do a water change only once a month. they said by doing a weekly clean will cause stress on my fish. i have several filters and bio sponges (not wheels) and my water quality is always good. but what should i do? water change once a week or monthly? im just so use to doing the water changes on a weekly basis and tomorrow is the day i do them. plez help!

I think my fish my have fin rot but not sure. He is very lethargic, his body looks dusty and he is very bloated. He seems to have a little bit of a balance problem also but he does still have his appetite. His fins are appearing torn, and his scales are sticking out like a pinecone. He's normally very happy to see me but now he just doesn't seem to acknowledge me. Is this more than one illness or am I right in thinking it's fin rot?

I have one female in a tank with a male and female Hemichromis bimaculatus. Are males just brighter in this species, or if I manage to find a mate for her, will both of their colors increase in intensity?

I realize that all proud fish owners (myself included) can't resist any opportunity to brag about our tanks and whats in them. I'm just curious about what great combinations of fish you guys have in your community tanks and what has worked well for you. (for my future reference)

Whats in my tank:
-13 Lamp-eyed killifishes
-8 Golden Scissortail rasboras
-2 Siamese Algae Eaters
-2 Pearl gouramies
-6 Peppered corydoras
-1 Chocolate plecostomus
-1 Clown plecostomus

I just bought a 120 gal aquarium. I want to mount it in the wall beside the fire place. Behind it is a closet to keep all the equipment hidden and have access to the tank. I've always wanted to have a salt water aquarium, but never been brave enough to try it. I would just like to know the in's and out's of keeping one up. Thanks

the argument is that fish have to eat all the time because they cannot store fat. I understand Bass is a fatty fish. What about sharks?
