we are new to this whole salt water thing.
would you please tell me the step by step instructions for getting a ten gallon tank up to brackish salinity? Most specifically, how much salt actually goes in there? A teaspoon a week? Something like that? And how much at first? We have the salt, we have a hydrometer, tank's been set up as freshwater for a long time. What do we do this!!!???
All help is appreciated.
please no links, just good old fashioned advice.

I have a ten gallon tank with three big guppies, two kuhli loaches, and two glowlight tetras. I have eight one month old guppy babies and more are on the way (the female is curently in the breeding trap as we speak). The problem is, the guppies all have clamped fins and dive towards the gravel and rub themselves on it. I'm assuming parisites or some fungas, and have added salt and fungas medicine. It isn't working though. Can fish become immune to the treatment? I've used it before. And is it fungas or parasites and how do I treat it? I need something that will not affect my Malasyan Trumpet snails or my plants. Thanks.

how big of an aquarium would it take and what fish would you need to create a compleatly natural aquarium like with plants so the smaller fish eat the plants, the bigger fish eat the smaller fish, like it would be in the wild

My dad was driving and like we were on a bridge looking out the window when i seen like clear clean water full of huge fishes i mean the fishes were huge and they were so colorful they're were some with glitter on them and some were black and some were dead. I don't know why i dreamt of that but i hear that when you dream of fishes someone close to you or you may be pregnant, but when i did some research i seen that is says that you gained some power or strenth... i am confused so what does it really mean????

I have a bubble tip anenome in a 55 gallon tank which is about half full of live rock and some fish (2 ocilerius clowns, 1 yellow tang, 1 niger trigger, 1 dragon gobby, a couple crabs, and a couple snails). Last night I woke up and checked on the tank and the anenome looked like it was being sucked into the intake of the powerhead. I wait until the morning to see if he would get himself out and he didn't. So I removed him myself and he is heading right back for the powerhead. Is this normal? He looks like he is half dead but he's moving pretty fast to get back to the powerhead. Any suggestions?

I recently inherited a 25 gallon tank from a family member who's moving to a smaller place. There are tetras, a pleco, and a betta. I started to gravel vac but got nervous with the fish inside. Not sure if I'm supposed to take them out or not. Thanks.

And is gravel vaccuming the best way to get out the dirt and feces on the bottom?

I've had a community tank together for a fews months now, and the first thing I always do when I see it is count heads. Does one ever stop doing this, or am I doomed to be an eternal fish counter?
