okay you may be able to save him but you have to take a couple of steps. Fist have the water tested, you can take a sample to someplace like petsmart or petco and they will test it for free, or you can buy the test strips and do it yourself. If they find something wrong theyll know where to go from there. Regardless you need to do at least a 30percent water change and be sure to use a water conditioner. Check his body for spots or open sores and make sure he's eating. Also do you have a heater in the tank? If you do and the temp is too high or low it could be causing his reaction. The correct temp for most *freshwater* fish is anywhere from 72-82 degrees. What food are you feeding him?

You moved him from one tank to another? Well the tank you moved him to may not have enough oxygen in the water yet. That has happened to my fish too. Some have died... some have lived.

Fish have a swim bladder. When that swim bladder goes, they tend to swim upside down, sideways, whatever, you name it. Sometimes they appear dead and they are not, they have just lost their sense of balance so to say. Your fish may be going through this. In my experience, it was just a matter of time before I literally found it floating "belly up".

Unfortunately he's ill and best you take him from the tank, so that he doesn't infect the others. Little hope of recovery am afraid, but you never know, miracles do happen. Hope you're not too sad:0(

your fish has swim bladder disease.the cure is to starve him for three days and then feed him boiled garden peas mushed up.I know it sounds crazy but it does work because one of my fish had it and now its fine.good luck.

He probably has a bacterial infection. A vet can sort this problem out

Sounds as though it is on its last legs or have you been overfeeding it? - Does it look swollen?
