Since a 5 gallon fish tank is very small, and not much will be happy in one, what about a betta? Is a 5gal tank with a filter and stuff a good set up for them? Are there any real plants I can put in the tank?

My Betta fish are starting to change color but they arent acting sic or anything. They are eating and doing what they usually do. Whats wrong?

This is the third time they've laid eggs. The first time they got eaten (I suspect by the big plec). The second time we put 'em in the same tank but in a nursery net - they just went mouldy and died. Any suggestions for this batch?

i just bought my guppies a day ago. One of them had vibrant colors on his fin and now half of the colors are gone and his fin is like half colorful and the other half clear and mmessed up, whats wrong with him? What do I do? Is he sick?

I have a 55 gallon fish tank that has fresh water fish in it. I have white gravel that has turned a sort of golden color. I have had the tank for approximately 1.5 months. I only have 10 fish in it no bigger than 1.5 inches long. Please help me.

Its a brown like film that attaches to plants and glass of my freshwater 29 gallon tank ... there are 15 fish inside the tank. Oh and it is a Community Fish Tank. The water is clear and the Amonia (sp) appears to be in the normal range.

Okay, I am trying so hard to breed my bettas, but it just isn't working for me. I am having two problems;
1. Female does not show vertical bars.
2. Male will not build a bubblenest.

Here is EXACTLY what i did to the tank to prepare;
- Tank is exactly 5 gallons.
- Filled 5 and a half inches of water.
- Submersible heater added set at 81° F.
- Sponge Filter, safe for fry.
- Plastic, large leafed plants and a styrofoam cup added for the nest. (Male chooses what he wants to build it under, So I've given him options.)

Here is the EXACT FISH INFO;

MALE:
- Blue Veiltail
- Aprox. 2 inches long.
- 3 day conditioning period.
BEHAVIOR:
- Flaring and showing off his display of fins at the female.
- Acting 'insane' and wanting to get at the female.
PROBLEM:
- Male is showing all signs of readiness BUT WILL NOT build a bubblenest. What he will do is display for the female, then go to the nest spot and blow 2 or 3 bubbles and will display for her again. (WILL CONTINUE BELOW)

i have put one of my fat fantail guppy's into a seperate floating marina tank im sure its pregnant due to size and brown marks on belly!!
she usually stays at top of marnia but all day has been resting on the bottom of the base divider! is this what they do when getting ready to give birth?
i have also noticed another free swimming guppy at the bottom of the tank so wondered if this was also pregnant or maybe ill, as they usually are always top swimmers in my tank!!

hey! i need advice!
my ryukin goldfish is sick!
i separated it from the main tank
and now it's floating slight sideways in the new container!
still breathing but seems to have lost ability to control its upper fin.
also it has blackish spots on some fins!
what do i do now??

I have green alge growing on the side of my tank and on my snail. I think thats why some of my tetra's are dying cause i just noticed they have red on there faces and they didnt before? so what do i do? do i just clean the whole tank out or add chemical fungus stuff to it?

I KEEP HAVING TO BUY NEW GOLD FISH FAN TAILED BECAUSE THIER FINS KEEP GETTING ALL RATTY AND THEY LOOK LIKE CRAP AND THEN THEY DIE. IVE CHANGED THE WATER , CLEANED THE TANK AND ADDED WATER SOFTENER WHY IS THIS HAPPING? PS I HAVE AN ALGE EATER THAT HAS SURVIVED ALL OF THIS
