How do you clean a fish tank?

I have a 55 gallon fish tank that has fresh water fish in it. I have white gravel that has turned a sort of golden color. I have had the tank for approximately 1.5 months. I only have 10 fish in it no bigger than 1.5 inches long. Please help me.

Also just a reminder you have to do a weekly water change, at least 30% of your aquarium water. The more fishes you have in the tank, the more you are required to do partial water change.

Also, try to loosen up the gravel if you're using an under-gravel filter to boost your filtration. If you are using canister filter, always check your mediums.

First of all, make sure you have the proper filtering system for that size tank, because it shouldn't need to be cleaned out so soon. Also make sure that what you put in there is appropriate for a fish tank, some things are not meant to be put in water for a long time. Check with the store from which you bought it, and ask them.

first of all you need a bucket, a gravel vacuum, and a algae scraper also if you don't already have a dechlorinator, and simply vacuum the gravel into the bucket to get rid of all the waste as you do this the water will pour into the bucket I would recommend 50-70% of the water then before you add the new water scrape the inside of the glass with the scraper, then add your new fresh water and use your dechlorinator

The easiest way is with a gravel vac, you can get a cheap one at any petstore. You clean all the gunk that's in the gravel and do a water change at the same time.
