I use vaseline, it looks so much better then tape. When you tape on the background it isn't pressed against the tank which allows water to get back there and cause water marks it also doesn't look as clear. The vaseline adheres the background to the tank, so it doesn't allow anything to get between and it makes the background look so much brighter. To test it out you can just wet the background and press it against the glass, you will see how much brighter it looks but since it's water, it will dry and come apart. The vaseline isn't permanent either, when you get tired of the background you can just peel it off and put up a new one or wipe all the vaseline away and not use anything.

To put the vaseline on, just smear it over the glass and apply the background. Using something with a straight edge, I used a credit card, squeeze out any extra vaseline and air bubbles that may have gotten stuck.

Take Scotch tape and place it on the edges then press the picture against the back of the tank and secure it with the Scotch tape pieces. I hope your tank looks great!

You have to buy a plastic one from the fish store or pet store and tape it to the outside back of the tank. Or you could create your own.
