I posted earlier about my one fish staying on the bottom. Now I noticed that his wen looks like it's ready to flake off in some areas. Is this normal?

I just bought 2 Oranda goldfish on Sunday. The only is pretty active, the other is active only when there is food to be eaten. (otherwise, he sits at the bottom of the tank) He is decently fat. Is his immobility due to the fact that he's fat? Or, could it be some other underlaying problem? I have fed them peas today to help their digestive system.

Well I have a small pond at home, probably about 8 hottubs in size (sweet unit of measurement eh?) and I surrently have 10-12 goldfish each about 5 inches in length in the pond. It is well maintained and has an abundant supply of algae. I was wondering how big the fish will grow and how long will it take them to get to that size.

I really dont want to purchase another tank, but there are too many fry in my small fry trap container. How old should they be until i can release them with the adults? I am worried that they might get eaten, because i have already witnessed about 5 fry getting eaten by their mothers and it was too late to do anything. so how old should they be?

Hello,
I have a 5 gallon poly hex tank. It is my first time having fish. I am doing this as a 4-H project. The tnak has been set up for 3 weeks. I actually put two mollies in a couple weeks ago, but they did not do well. Tank had not cycled correctly and too much nitrogen...
I am going to wait until the tank has been set up a month before I put other fish in the tank.
Anyway, what fish do you suggest?

Thanks,
rrockey

Hello, I just purchased 5 lovely neon tetras and well I've run into a question that has been answered both ways by Petsmart [not always reliable] && Aquarium Adventure [name says it all]

Petsmart has a 10 gallon tank with neon tetras and a algae eating fish [the kind that you see "sunctioned" to the sides of the aquarium] And well they seemed to be living peacefully, as with the other fish in the aquarium.

However --> Aquarium Adventure states "you should not have any breed of "algea or vegtable eaters" aka the ones that stick themselves on the glass and stuff, because they are aggressive.

But I've seen them in the same tank at several other places as well?

Is there any common algea eater that I can buy [[just 2 or 3]] that would be "neutral or peaceful" towards my neon tetras.

Thank you for any advice beforehand,
Jesika

My goldfish is about 6 months old it is laying at the bottom of the tank it is laying on its side and seems to be alive still. It has been fed and cleaned frequently. There is also a weird bloob appered in corner of the tank thats like a yellow ish colour maybe sheer coincidence. Ive noticed the poor fish in the last 30 minutes and no change.
