By simply cutting down on any excess food (watch how much your fish eat next feeding time...) and cleaning the bottom more regularly, they will become unnoticeable. They are planaria, but it's not something I'd go so far as to put poisons into the tank for. Actually, I can't really recommend using clorox in anything with live animals and a cycled, establish filter.

oh. they're probably planarias. they multiply rapidly when you didn't siphon the gravel for a long time, or if there's a lot of unseen, leftover food. they are usually not harmful, but they can become lodged in your fish's gills and possibly choke them.

i recommend evacuating your fish, and cleaning out your tank.
clorox mixture kills them, just get some water out and pour some in. they will try to crawl above the waterline, but kind of shake your tank and they'll fall back.

make sure you clean out your tank properly after the clorox thing, rinse with strong water outside with a hose. SEVERAL TIMES. if you don't, you might kill your fish. make sure you clean the plants and the decorations also. then sun-dry.

it's not 100% garanteed to banish planaria for sure if your tank falls into the dirty catagory again, so make sure you do the 25% water change every week, and siphon the water. plus, don't feed the fish more then they can consume in a few minuites.

i hope this helps!

You should clean your fish tank every week. That includes scrubbing off all "foreign" objects from the glass and filtering the rocks and any other materials in the fish tank. Your fish might start to try and eat them, and that probably isn't good considering that you're supposed to feed them specific food yourself. I'd go to the pet shop you bought your fish from and ask them. If they don't know, I suggest you remove them from the tank. You don't want to just "take a chance" and see if they are okay to have in your tank.

Thats not healthy for the fish. You most likely have a parasite growing in your tank. Clean tank well and keep a eye on it. For about a month do weekly water changes, then do it every 2 weeks.

Any idea where they came from? Any new fish, plants? Have they shown any interest in eating them? Fish do get intestinal parasites, but I'm not sure what to do about that. I'd do a thorough gravel cleaning to be on the safe side.
