Tangs are a kind of saltwater fish which inhabit shallow reefs and beds of seagrass from the east coast of Africa northward to the Red Sea, and over the broad span of the Atlantic and Indo-Pacific oceans. The ideal temperature of their habitat is between the middle 70s and low 80s Fahrenheit (25 to 30 °C). The Zebrasoma comprise seven species of pointed-snout, disc-like bodied, sail-like finned, single peduncular-spined fishes and it is true that this genus of surgeonfishes is commonly accepted as being properly termed "Tang".

Tangs are a genus of saltwater fish that are herbivores and need a large amount of swimming room. The tang that can be kept in the smallest tank is the Yellow Tang where a 75 gallon tank is required, the majority of other tangs get much larger and require at least a 6 foot tank (125 gallons plus) due to their great need for swimming room. They should be felt algae sheets daily and always giving a constant supply of good algae to graze on.

Its a saltwater fish. They come in a couple different varieties, but are rather hard to keep in the average home aquarium. They need larger tanks, 60+ gallons minimum. While they tend to be peaceful, it is likely they will be aggressive towards other types of tang. Not a very hardy species of fish, very prone to ich. Gorgeous fish but tend to be pricey, on the upper side of $80 at most stores but of course can be found for cheaper online. These fish are mostly harvested for aquarium selling, as with many fish, they are difficult to breed in captivity.

Tangs are herbivorous salt water fish. They are very handy to have in a tank because they eat algea voraciously, don't bother the other fish, and will eat prepared food as well. They come in a huge variety of colors and aren't too expensive. Both Dory and Bubbles from the movie Finding Nemo are tangs
