Dogs use to jump, I heard stories from affective rabits, but how is it with fish?

They swim excitedly at the front glass when the owner comes into view (and yes, even a goldfish can tell the owner from other random people).

That's about it -- it's a desire for a pinch of food, and not real affection. Fish that don't care for their young (and that's most of them) can't be expected to care about you.

Yes people can get infections from certain bacterias most commonly associated with saltwater aquariums, but it is rare and usually only if you have a large open wound when you're hands are in the tank. So it isn't really from your fish, but what's in the water.

I have a very large saltwater fish tank and my fish do recognize me. I have one fish that hasn't come out since I left him with a stranger for 10 days. I think he is still mad at me.

Cichlid fish are very personable and will ask to be fed. Some fish if not to shy will let you hand feed them, like koi and goldfish.
