My big fat goldfish is crapping worms. and let me clarify, it is not just goldfish poop, these crawl. They are live worms, I am wondering if they are contagious to my other fish or what to do to correct the problem. Poor little Goldie may have to take a swim in the canal and try to outrun the gators if I dont get this under control. I just cleaned the entire 55 gal tank today and dont want to go through that again this soon if possible.

3 days ago I got 6 fish from Walmart and apparently the tank was labeled wrong. It said my fish were gold barbs, but they don't look like the gold barbs on the internet. These are disc shaped (kind of) and have gold flecks on their bodies. They are grey/dark grey and have dark grey/black fins on top and red fins on the bottom. They are very active and bump into each other like they are either fighting or playing. They ate a smaller fish I already had in the tank. Walmart doesn't sell pirahana does it? Any help would be appreciated. I have looked forever on the internet and can't fins a picture that even look close. HELP!

I got two angle fish. I think one is male and the other female. The male (Mr. Lyoid Wilson AKA BIG DADDY) has gotten huge while his mate, Mrs. Bridget Wilson, is half Big Daddy's size. Big Daddy eats like crazy and I think he has eaten guppies. She is always interested in food but mostly spits out her flakes. What will this fish eat?

I just bought a used 55 gallon tank with filter from a friend. He kept and bred angel fish in it. We set the tank up today, and turned the filter on. He said to use the old fiter cartridges until we get our fish to help neutralize the water or something. Well, we put the water in the tank like 2 hours ago, and the filter is running, and I see like maybe 10 of these little tiny white worm looking things swimming around. They are barely visible, but definetly there. We cleaned the tank and the filter has been out of water for 3 days. What could this be???? And should I be worried about putting new fish in the tank in a week?

I just got my first fish tank (55 gallon) and have been looking around at different fish stores, getting an idea of what fish to get. I really like Oscars, because they are so big. I know that they will eat any fish that are smaller than them, but will they eat those fish that eat all the dirt off the sides of the tank? Also, is 55 gallons big enough to keep 2 rather large white oscars in? We will be purchasing the fish next weekend, after letting the water in the tank get to the right balance. Any advice on Oscars, or other BIG freshwater fish I should look into would be appreciated.

I had 2 neon dwarf gouramis in a 10 gal tank. I have live plants, real nice set up, filters, bubble curtain, etc. I tested the water every other day, Nitrate and nitrite levels were at 0, ph was at 6.8, and ammonia was at .25 (then I added a little ammo lock so the small amoutn of ammonia wouldn't hurt the fish), so that was alright. I came home to find one fish dead, chillin on the bottom of the tank, without any signs of injury. Where did I go wrong? And what do I need to do so the other fish, and any new fish I get don't get infected with whatever the dead fish left behind?
