I have had the tank for a long time and never had this problem. It's not in direct sunlight and I haven't done anything different.
When I noticed the color change I did about a 75% water change but it is still the same.

How can I keep my water clear in my fish tank? Everything in there keeps growing this green algae on it. What can I do to keep that from happening?

I recently was given a tank that came with a cichlid. I already have a Jack Dempsey, and since they are the same size, I put them in together. So far, so good. The fish that came with the tank is about the same shape as the Jack Dempsey, body, fins, etc. The new one is a pinkish tan with vertical black stripes, and a black dot at the base of the tail. All the fins are lined with a pretty orange-pink. The eyes are lighter and kind of protruding, compared with the Jack dempsey, which has flat, dark eyes. The new one's mouth seems more pointed than that of the Jack, also. Can anyone tell me what I have?

About 5 days ago, I took out all the water in my 96 liter since it badley needed it although I know it would have been better to leave like 20% of the water in so I don't take out all of the bacteria a tank needs. Anyway, it was beautifuly clean and i put lots of new plants in. After about 2 hours I put my fish back in (which are all compatible with each other) and from that day on till now, about 10 of them died! Could this have been from the water change? But then after about 4 days after I cleaned it, i bought some new fish of the same species that died, they were doing great and today i woke up to 3 of them dead! this couldn't have been from the water change since this was like 4 days after...right?

She is bound to be pregnant. Then I raise the fry. After a couple of generations I should have tanks full. How many fry do I expect to survive and how long for them to grow up?

My girlfriend was playing with my pet goldfish. She was putting it in her mouth and then taking out. Once she put it in her mouth and accidentally swallowed it alive, whole without hurting it. My girlfriend can not feel my pet goldfish, it is in her stomach. 10-15 minutes passed after it. Can we save our pets life or it is too late?

...than actually follow it?

If you have a goldfish in a bowl, or if you have multiple goldfish in a ten-gallon tank, and several people tell you this isn't healthy - why would you rather pick a fight about it? Why not just do the research and see that what these people are telling you is indeed the truth?

Same goes for other fish. If those of us who know what we're talking about (look at our previous answers to see that, yes, we do!) recommend you change something, why are you so quick to attack instead of actually following the recommendations? Yes, we may not always be very nice about it, but face it - if we're somewhat sharp about our answer, you're more likely to at least acknowledge it. So if you're willing to acknowledge it, why not at least try to listen?

This isn't meant for everyone - just the stubborn people who'd rather whine than listen.

I was wondering have anyone else have seen this fish that looked like a dog. The clerk at petco said that the name of the fish is dogfish. I thought it was so strange looking. It had ears, nose and mouth just like a dog but it was a fish swimming in the aquariaum, she said it was a salt water tank fish. I don't think I would want to have something that look like that.

I have a kenyi cichlid female and she has seriously been swimming in circles upside down and on her side all day. I don't know if she is sick or has eggs or if she is constipated. I recently changed her to a higher protein food and it may be that. If anybody knows please please please help. THANK YOU

About a week ago I lost one of my fish. Since this happned the ammonia in my tank has been very high. Between 1-2 I've been doing 20% water changes daily(gravel vac style), I've rinced off my filter hoping that would help. I've added in amo-lock. And put in some Aquarium salt just so my other fish would not die from any paracites. Nothing seams to be working.I'm thinking maybe I'm doing to much of a water change and their is no healthy bacteria The ammonia in the tank is the only thing that is not normal. Every thing else is fine. I've had the tank for about 8 weeks so I would not think cycleing has anything to do with it. Please help I don't want to lose any more fish.

The other one I had started chasing the fish right awya (i tought it was a female so I bought it but i didn't know they kill eachother until right now also I just bought him about 30 minutes ago and the store is closed now so there's no hope on me going to change it altough why is it that they sell a lot of them and they probably don't know if they are males or females so why is it that they are fighting right now?) please help if you have any info!If I could i would give you 30 points!
