First off, please no wise cracks from anyone. If you don't know the answer, please do not even respond.

My albino comet goldie is starting to get a yellowish belly. I noticed it a few days ago and it is getting more distinct with each passing day. Nothing else is different from what I can tell.

What are the possibilities?

Thanks.

I have 10 cichlids in a tank and do weekly 25% water changes, dechlorinizing the water and adding salt accordingly. I recently noticed that two of my fish have begun to twitch uncontrollably sometimes, are very lethargic in movement, seem to be gasping for air and are eating quite less. Any idea what could be causing this? My other 8 fish are large and healthy. I recently added 2 Chinese Algae eaters.... things seem to have started then...any advice would be appreciated.

Would love something to go with his color & "crown tail" ... (he has separated fanned fins rather than standard full fins)

Our other betta is "bob fish". We brought him home, and while deciding for a name, a tv commercial read "Bob Fisher" .. so simple

Will it survive the water parameters? The fish are all still quite small, and won't grow particulary large. The last fish that was in the same tank as the shrimp has just swam off this mortal coil and I am going to close the tank down. I can't keep it in my main tank with my Mbu Puffer or in my Mudskipper's tank as it will get eaten.

I'm just wondering how you can do this? I found this soil pH testing container lying around the house, can I use that to test the pH in my tank water? and how do you use it anyway.

I have a betta that I received around three months ago, from a friend who had him for about four. I assume he's about two years old by now. He was blowing bubbles at the top of the tank and generally being a happy fish until a couple of weeks ago...now he is floating horizontally, and breathing very hard through his gills. He no longer breaths through his mouth. Occasionally I'll tap the tank to see if he's still alive, at which time he'll go psycho and dart around...then back to laying on the plant, or the corner of the tank, and breathing through his gills. A couple of nights ago he was jumping from the bowl, so I got him a new full gallon tank to see if he'd thrive in it. No use. He's not eating...I've tried pellets, bloodworms and flakes. I read online that he may be ill and I should try non-iodized salt to see if he gets better, but first...will this help, is he just getting to be a senior, or is he dying? He hasn't eaten nor passed food since his tank change a week ago.
