I'm just wondering how you can do this? I found this soil pH testing container lying around the house, can I use that to test the pH in my tank water? and how do you use it anyway.

Usually you would need to take a water sample up to a pet store, or something of that nature, and they test it for you. And tell you what you need to put in there, and how much of it..

Go to your local pet store. Ask the worker running around the fish section for an aquarium water pH tester. You should get one for water...otherwise the label would read Universal pH Tester.

Pet stores offer a variety of pH test kits, or you can go to places like Petco where they offer free water tests =P
