I read in my fish book that both need 1 table spoon of specially formulated salt per gallon of water, and lost of luchious plant. So since they need the same environment, I wa simply wondering if you can keep them together...

Yes and like they said the do give birth to live babies...so the more plants the more hidding places for babies....cause if they don't have a place to hide the adult fish will eat them

Yes you can, I do and I currently have a 55 gallon tank full of them. The fish do love to pick on vegetables and plants but they're not absolutely necessary. Be careful with the salt, I use the brand by Jungle called simply aquarium salt. It's buffered and it softens the water for the fish making it more comfortable for them. Speaking from experience, it does seem to keep them healthier. As with any additive, follow the instructions, you're adding salt to a fresh water fishes living area!

certain I have a similar yet be careful, you could get a similar sex. when I first were given my fish i began with 2 mollies a male and a woman They mated so insanely through 6 months I had like 50 molly toddlers. a number of those fish are stay bearers and reproduce very right now. except that you'll be good.

Swordtails, platty, guppy, and molly are all related, and get along we together. They don't need salt, but does help prevent disease. Note that you don't need the special aquarium salt. You can use plain table salt, or kosher salt if you are worried about iodine.

The swordtails might pick on the mollies. Their kind of aggressive to timid fish

yes, yes and then yes...swords & mollies really do fine together you know they r both live breeders soooooooo allu do is put them together and 123 you have babies,so go and get some aquarium salt (its really cheap)u can't use table salt...the plants r fine too...and set u up an aquarium good luck!!!

Yes, I worked in a pet store and we kept them together and they did well. We didn't use salt though we used water conditioner that you can buy in any pet deptment.
