First off, please no wise cracks from anyone. If you don't know the answer, please do not even respond.

My albino comet goldie is starting to get a yellowish belly. I noticed it a few days ago and it is getting more distinct with each passing day. Nothing else is different from what I can tell.

What are the possibilities?

Thanks.

Alastor is an albino. Pure white with the red eye (true he does have one black...which was how he earned his name).

Is it possible he, as an albino, change colors?

No wise cracks? Aww.. you're no fun... I was going to say something about him being a yellow-bellied scaredy cat or something :-P

So I've been doing a little bit of research since your email this morning (or was it last night? I don't even remember...), and I'm still pretty convinced that he might just be aging.

From one site I was reading: "Food can also affect color. A heavy diet of algae or other plant materials laden with carotene can turn fish yellow-orange. " http://www.aquariumfish.com/aquariumfish/detail.aspx?aid=2735&cid=3783&search=

Um.. that's all I really have to offer right now, other than that link I sent you this morning. Just make sure he's still eating and swimming normally - it may be nothing to worry about.

Oh, and don't forget to smile!

I'm not real knowledgable on goldfish, but one of my comets turned from orange with a few white spots to all white. I've read on a forum that goldfish are known to change colors.
