OMFG!!!! How can someone be so ignorant and stupid to put 11 goldfish and 5 tetras in a dinky 10 gallon tank????
The RULE for goldfish is 10 gallons PER fancy goldfish (black moors, orandas, fantails, ect.) and 20 gallons PER long bodied goldfish. (comets, commons, shubunkins). ALL OF YOUR FISH ARE GOING TO DIE. 5 black skirt tetras are even too much for a 10 gallon because they grow to be 3 inches each. Goldfish grow to be 12-14 inches. Take all those fish back to the store and if the store actually let you buy all those and said it would be ok, BOYCOTT them and find a Reputable fish store that actually cares about the fish.

It sounds like your fish has ick. Go to the pet store and buy an ick treatment. Go home, change 50% of your water and treat with the medication. Wait 24 hours and change 50% of your water again and retreat. You should also not be running your charcoal filter while the tank is being treated.
This part is taking a big chance but if your fish is very bad, you might consider putting the fish in a net outside the tank for just long enough to treat the fish directly with the meds. I am only telling you this because my dad did this. We had a large fan tailed goldfish about the size of a man's open hand. He was very sick with ick and regular tank treatments did not help. My dad took the fish out of the tank and while the fish was laying in the net, he put the ick treatment directly on the fish. Within 2-3 days, the ick was completely gone and the fish lived several years after that.
Good luck, I hope this helps.

You need to seperate it from the rest of the fish right away. It sounds like a parasite problem and it is quite possible that the other fish will be infected. It also sounds like you have a very crowded tank. Forgive me if I misunderstood, but you have too many fish for one ten gallon tank. Also, tetras are tropical fish and should have a heated tank, and heating the water for goldfish can encourage parasites. I hope you can sort out your problem, I know how frustrating fish problems are.
Also, many fish problems are falsely called ick. You can try an ick treatment, but chances are the fish will die anyway. Just beware of "cureall" medications at pet shops.

I agree with Ick. I am also concerned with the amount of fish in your 10 G tank. It's awefully crowded in there. The more crowded the fish are, the more easily they will become ill. Hope you can rectify the issue!

it has ickand you need to get anti-ick drops at a pet store or any place that sells fish. I hope your fishies are alright. If they die and u want more, u need to clean the tank and put new water in it so the new fish do not get ick.

it is ick!!! and you have to many fish in your tank. A 10 gallon tank is to small for that many fish.

Hm, maybe the tertas were sick when you got them? That happened 2 times with my other betta fish, I used "Splendid Betta, BettaFix remedy." But sadly it was to late for emma. I hope he/she turns out ok. Oh and sorry for your loss:(.
