I have bought my dog many different types of flea medications, and none of them have worked on her fleas. She is an inside dog, but is outside for about 30 -45 minutes a day for potty time. My mother or me do not get bit at all, but my doggie has so many on her. Do you have any remedies that I could use on her that will actually work? I used creams, dips, shampoos, drips, etc, and nothing works, so I would be so grateful if you could help. I can't stand to see my poor dog always miserable from the itching!!
Thanks so much!

Everytime somene knocks on the bathroom door, or opens the bathroom door my 7 year old yorkie Bongo go crazy. He darts to the door as fast as he can barking and depending on who it is he will bite at their feet. He is a very good dog and aside from this we have no problems with him. Any suggestions on how to stop this would be helpful. Thanks!

I really wanted a Siberian Husky (thanks for the answers!) But now Im not so sure. Im not very good with knowing much about breeds. I would like a loving puppy more on the mellow side and not to small.

Yes, my dog smells bad. You know, from the eye area and he has signifigant skin problems.

After being on "answers" for a while now, I am thinking it could be the food I am feeding (Iams puppy). He is 3 yrs. old, weight is normal, but he smells due to the allergy skin.

Ok....so I need PROFESSIONAL ANSWERS..
What are the foods out there now that you have had experience with to help in this matter? Websites to back your info would be appreciated. I have looked myself, but there are so many out there now, I just wanted personal feedback on what has worked for others in my situation.

Thank you for your time.

I have 2 dogs and I'm white. The older one we took to our black friend's house since we first got her. She is fine around all races. However, our younger dog was never around another race and he saw a very dark black man in Pet Smart and really started barking! I was very embarassed, we both knew why he was acting that way because he didn't bark at any white people. The next week, I had him out again and he reacted this way to a black family while in a parking lot. I'm certainly not racist and I'm not trying to be funny or anything but I don't want my dog to be! I'd like them both to be therapy dogs. How can I get my one dog used to black people? I could take him over to my friend's house but I'd be embarassed if he started acting this way. I assume that he is just barking to the dark skin because in both instances, the man and the family were rather dark skinned. He needs to get used to ALL types of people if he's going to be a therapy dog. HELP!!!

Our lab REFUSED to come inside to her whelping area. She dug a hole outside under our swing and had her pups there. (all but one. One was born inside). We were asleep and did not know she was giving birth. I have no idea if the placentas were all expelled. The one she had inside, I never saw the placenta but when I went and checked on her again there was a dark bloody spot where she lay. Also she chewed the cords, should I still tie the cords off with some string?

She scratches all the time. I give her an alergy medication twice a day (chlorphenirmine) and that seemed to help for a little but now, she seems to starting the scratch and itch more. She was on a different drug, but they were making her fat and the vet said that drug wasn't good for her over a long period of time. Her ears almost always stay infected. I give her oximoton (?) for the ears for 7 days... they clear up for about a week after I stop, then its back again. She always scratches them. She's always chewing on her back feet, which probably doesn't help with the ears when she scratches them. Now, I've noticed that around her ears, her skin is dark and kinda scally. And around her mouth...
She can't be comfortable and it kills me knowing she may be miserable. I've gone to 2 vets and they have both told me that it's just alergies and that is the problem with where we live (Louisiana). Anybody out there have other suggestions? A diet I can use? She eats Science Diet.

What appeals to you most (besides bettering the breed, that would be obvious) about breeding dogs?

....if it were practicably possible, you should only be able to buy a dog from a licenced and reputable breeder or rehoming centre and that in order to qualify for a dog you have to take a test?
Like a driving test only perhaps not that complex, but to be able to answer the basics of responsible dog ownership.

My lady friend is always doing this or kissing the darn cats in the mouth. I understand she love the animals and I do to. But then she wants me to kiss her. Now we have all seen where animals lick themselves and each other. I think it is a little over the top. Am I asking to much to leave the smooching for me and not the pooch.

I have a female puppy and was planning on getting a home for her brother but, he got very sick and almost died. I nursed him back to health and now I am very attached. I am planning on keeping him also. Any one know the round about age on how old they are when it is time to get them fixed? I guess it is different for all dogs but, A estimate would be appreciated. Thanks!

I don't have have any exercise equipment so please don't suggest that. My dogs haven't been able to go outside for a couple of days and walk and they are starting to look depressed. It's been cold and rainy with sleet the last couple of days. Thanks.

I have a 6 month old yorkie she is a great puppy but I am having some trouble with potty training. I use the potty mats and she was doing fairly well with them but my vet said it was a bad idea. So I started training her to go outdoors it was going fairly well untill winter hit. When I take her out doors all she does is shiver. the last few days her training has went from 90% to 0% . when I take her out doors she stands there it does not matter if we are out side five min or thirty. I am so lost I feel so bad for her. Should I train her to use the potty mats. Please keep in mind she is 6 months and 3.4 Lb and it is 30 out side with out the wind chill.

How is it that dogs are so different from breed to breed? I guess that can be applied to all canines... How come they adapt and differentiate so suddenly?

I saw it on the National Geographic channel, but I can't remember it exactly... I think it had something to do with repetitions in the genetic code...
