Simple - the dogs owned by the laziest, stupidest idiots.
There is a good chance that you actually know who several of those people are.
No list of "dangerous breeds" has any validity.
(1) It will be dominated by the "breeds" produced by puppy-millers who require only that the buyer have enough money. Those buyers are not encouraged/forced to do the proper fencing & training, and so their dogs are more likely to be "wild childs" plus be able to get into positions where they will react by biting.
(2) It will be dominated by the breeds that are POPULAR - if there are 2 million Squigglefaces and only 100 Squiggletails, guess which breed is going to produce the most bites?
(3) It will be dominated by the powerful breeds - a sufferer is more likely to forgive (and not report) a nip from a Chihuahua than a chomp from a Rottweiler.
(4) It will be dominated by whatever currently has public recognition as "dangerous" - when Alsatians were too-popular anything with pricks ears was called an Alsatian; when Dobermanns were too popular anything more or less bicolour was called a Dobermann; when Rottweilers were too popular anything solid and more-or-less bicolour was called a Rottweiler; while Pit Bulls are popular anything with a broad head and a broad chest is called a PBT (and if it's not a PBT then in several countries you'd better have a registered pedigree to prove what it really is).
To find out what dogs currently deserve to be called the most dangerous, just unexpectedly visit the head-quarters of a few street gangs and drugs lords. If you can get in & out without inside help, the dogs aren't REALLY dangerous. If you don't survive (and THAT's gotta be good for us!), you will - for a few seconds, anyway - know what dog truly is dangerous.
Now - how do I contact your parole officer?

According to the Center for Disease Control, the top 10 most dangerous dogs are:
1. Pit Bulls
2. Rottweilers
3. German Shepherds
4. Huskies
5. Alaskan Malamutes
6. Doberman Pinschers
7. Chow Chows
8. Great Danes
9. St. Bernards
10. Akitas
It is important to remember that any type of dog is potentially dangerous under the right circumstances. Many people believe that smaller dogs are less ferocious than larger ones, but even friendly dogs such as Dachshunds, Schnauzers, and Beagles can inflict serious damage or even death under the wrong circumstances. Part of the dog bite epidemic in the United States can be attributed to the popularity of larger, stronger breeds such as Pit Bulls and Rottweilers that can cause more damage when they attack, though any type of dog breed is a potentially dangerous dog breed.
When a dog is deemed a danger to other people or animals, law enforcement or animal control usually become involved. The first responders on the scene are usually police or medical personnel, because these experts know how to assess a situation and address any injuries caused in the attack. If the animal still presents a threat, animal control officers can attempt to locate the dog and take the necessary steps to ensure that it cannot cause any more damage.
A dangerous dog can cause enormous pain and suffering and dog owners need to be held accountable when their pets become threatening. If you or someone you know was attacked by a dangerous dog, you may have the right to seek financial compensation from those who failed to uphold their responsibilities. All dogs being natural carnivores and predators can be potentially dangerous. Stereotyped as "vicious" (pit bulls, dobermans etc), some dog breeds are considered more dangerous than others. But a dog is not normally vicious unless trained or conditioned to do so. I have currently a German shepherd and a Rottweiler, two dog breeds considered "vicious" and normally trained for protection and police work. (Owner ignorance and maltreatment such as dog fight training, cruelty, poor diet etc are actually the most common reasons why dogs become "viscious). However, I trust them completely when my 8 year old daughter plays with them. In fact, they protect her from strangers who come to our house. what you should be more concerned about is if you can handle an adult dog. Some very cute puppies turn into large, costly to feed and maintain adults. Many pet owners end up giving them away or leaving them in shelters where they will most likely , unless adopted, (a long shot with adult dogs) be euthanized after 7 days. if you're living in an area with limited space, I suggest you get one of he "toy" breeds which are easier to keep in confined spaces such as apartments and condominiums. Large breeds need lots of space. Hope this helps.
PS buy from reputable breeders not puppy mills. Also consider adoption.

most lists will include pitbulls, rotweilers, akitas, and german shepards among others (chow chow and doberman show up often). But those top 4 i listed are the most notorious because of their size and incredible power. Just remember that any dog can be a great family dog and the dogs listed are the ones that can do the most damage when an owner is irresponsible and trains their dogs to do harm.

Here we go. What breed of dog you get has close to nothing do to with how violent it is. Breed doesn't really matter, so long as you buy a dog from a professional/experienced breeder who knows what s/he is doing and raise it correctly! In fact, dogs with the most violent stererotypes (pitbulls, rottweilers, german shepherds, etc.) actually make the best pets, if raised properly. Any dog will turn violent if raised incorrectly.

i disagree about pitts being on the top dangerous dog. i have one he is a baby never bites or growls.he never really barks.only when my other dogs bark. he even plays with my chi-mix she weighs 4 lbs to a 60 lbs dog. sweetest dog you'd ever meet. its all the owner not the animal if you raised them from a pup and taught them to be mean then ANY dog big or small CAN be mean

I read an article once that gave data on which breeds of dogs bite the most people every year. Yorkshire Terriers won.

You wont need a dangerous dog, you will need several good attorneys......there are not dangerous dogs, just dangerous owners that want to make them bad....this is what gives dogs bad reps and no one wants to buy a certain breed...good luck
