my dog is a yorkshire terrier. and his name is sonny. he absolutely loves frisbee. almost as much as me. so I can't let him use my really good frisbees.. i have to give him the crappy ones. but he also loves those rope tug-a-war things. he's amazing.

The most durable toy for dogs I have seen is a small tire with the thick rope tied to it. Great tug of war thing. Got it at a pet store , cost some but never got torn up.

Squeakers are big around our house especially Bad Cuz ( the bad ones, with the horns, have a louder, deeper squeak then the good ones).
"air dog" tennis balls a pretty popular too.
But this week's "all time fav" is the big orange ball that dispenses treats when she pushes it around.
My dog has at last count over 50 toys in various stages of destruction so the turn over is pretty constant. Today's "won't play with anything else." is tomorrow's throw it in the basket item. Yes, believe it or not, she puts her toys back in the toy basket.

My bullies love their kongs and all kinds of frisbees and balls. Until I rescued one of these girls I had no idea that bully breeds were such good frisbee dogs. Although, I think by far my dogs favorite toy is this big rubber ball about the size of a soccer ball with a rope pull toy through the middle. They can play with it by themselves and it almost seems like another dog is pulling on it. I took the older one Abby to petsmart for her birthday to pick out a toy and she grabbed that toy first thing and wouldn't leave it alone, they both love it!

I have two male boxers. My babies. They really like the classic tennis ball. They also enjoy squeaky stuffed toys. Just be careful that they're 'dog toys' and not stuffed animals. Stuffed toys have plastic eyes and can be pulled off from play and end up in your dog's throat. Same goes for the ball. Never give them a ball smaller than a tennis ball.

There are so many toys out there to choose from. Take him to Petsmart and maybe let him/her choose.

It really depends on the breed of dog. example: my lab loves the frisbie, but my mini schaunzer doesn't, he prefers a stick, my chiuaua (sp?) loves to chew, so he likes bones. But the rottwieler (sp?), that I sometimes doggie-sit, just loves to wrestle on the floor with me. My friends greyhound would much rather just run. It can also depend on the personality and age of the dog. My uncle's lazy 14 year old great dane, lays around all the time.

Squeeky toys that he can chew on. That's pretty much all he likes. I tried getting him a kong a couple days ago but he just eats out the food at the end he can easily get and gives up on the food inside the kong.

Both my toy poodle and beagle love "kong" toys especially when they have peanut butter and bits of cookies in them. By saying cookies I mean healthy dog treats that are organic and not made with fillers.

My dog likes anything that squeaks. She currently has a Loofa and Hide-a-squirrel.

I plan to get her a Buster Cube for Christmas (it's an interactive toy that spills out treats if you roll it a certain way); I'm pretty certain she'll love that as well.

She also LOVES empty boxes. She'll run around with one in her mouth and trip all over it and make us chase her. LOL.

Rope chew toys! All my dogs have loved these. Are great for a game of tug-of-war too.
