If it where a bird or a fish you could throw it away, but if it where a cat or dog, what do you do with it? do you call someone up and have them take it away? who? is there a special pet cemetery?

Well Hun,
You don't mention where you live but here in NY where I am, if a pet passes away, If you live in the suburbs , Most folks would bury it in the ground on their property. If you live in the city here , that is forbidden, so You would call Animal Control or 911, and they come and pick up the animal and dispose of it in a humane manner.
You can also contact your veternarian and they have Creamation services if you wish to keep your pets ashes after it's death. There is a cost for this service. Some city's and towns have pet cemetarys and others do not.

Hope this helps answer your question.
Take Care,
Lisa R.

u dont just throw away a animal; no matter what it was! a fish or a bird need to be treated the same way as a 60kg st bernard dog!

bury it in the garden or call a pet thingy where they take the pets body away and buy it there. i have a rabbit and hamster, both are young and i hope they never die, but if it will end their suffering when they are in pain, i will bury them in the garden when they do go to rainbow bridge. :'(

We keep dogs at home, 2 at the back and 1 in front. You'll love these dogs as they get old with you, 5 to 10 yrs. or more

At the last moment of their time with us, we bury them beside the big tree backyard. As we treat them as our love ones, we say a little prayer.

We love our pets.

you DONT just throw a bird or a fish away if you loved the animal at all you would either bury it in your garden or call a pet cemetery, call your vet and they will have a list of the ones in your local area.

There are loads of pet cemeteries around.
Vets will dispose of the body for you.
Depending on local byelaws you should be able to bury it in your garden but make sure it is buried deep enough so other ani,als can't dig it up.

What happens to your dog now depends on you. If you feel you would rather bury him/her in your garden maybe his or her favourite spot, then thats good too. If not, you can search the local phone book for pet crematoriums, or contact the vets and they can get in touch with them for you, and you could get your dog cremated, and if you wanted to, get the ashes in a lovely box to keep with you always. It all depends on you and what you would rather do with your beloved friend.

Don't know if you are in the UK but if so there are Pet Cemeteries around. We have two near us. I personally would bury my dog in the garden so i can still talk to him when I am passing - sad I know, but it makes me happy.

There are pet cemeteries, but in most cases cremation is more practical. My greyhound passed away in April and she was cremated. Your local phone book should have some numbers.

Most people with houses just bury them. If someone lives in an apt in the city, I assume they take it to the vet to get rid of? Vets have contracts with the garbage company to pick them up for the landfill. Some places have crematorium contracts.
