I have a 7 month old goldendoodle and he's really good with me but he's always biting my husband! Is there something I can do about this? My husband is to the point where he doesn't want to be around the dog!

Recently my dog has developed a half dollar sized lump on her shoulder blade area. For a couple of weeks I didn't know what was bothering her. She would avoid being picked up and when I did pick her up she'd yelp in pain. The only way I can describe what the lump feels like is that it feels as if it were an air bubble under the skin, it doesn't feel solid or hard. Yet it moves like a cist would. I just noticed it's been getting a bit larger and it's noticeable. I was hoping it would possibly just rub out but not I'm thinking it might be serious. Does anyone have any advice on what I should do or any idea of what it would be?

She's about 2 year old, 7 lbs, chihuahua.
Thanks for your time... any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well, we had 7 dogs (most from finding them and raising them) Then out of 4 of the not nuterd and spayed ones the girl had 4 puppys and we live way out in the booines (in the middle of no where) and its hard to get them adopted and because of those puppys now i cant get one of my own puppys from a animal shelter!!! How can i convince my mom to let me get a new puppy?

P.S The reason that i couldent get my 4 dogs nuterd and spayed was because were i live its very expencive(123 dollors for spay and 100 for nudur)

P.S.S The reason i dont want to just keep 1 of our puppys is because theres a puppy in our towns animal shelter that may have to be put down soon and i fell in love with that puppy!!!!

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Ok I have a 3 year old son and he is good around animals. We also have a house full of people living here right now. Including his 1 1/2 year old cousin. Well I had a small dog chihuahua and my son was good with him. On the other hand his cousin liked to carry him and if we told her put him down she would throw him. She threw him down the stairs one day and well anytime she would go around him he would get like sad and hide in the corners. Sad to say but he got real sick and died this morning. I love dogs and I want another but should I wait? Is my sons cousin too young to be around a puppy? If I get one should I keep him in my room where she cant play with him? Or teach her how to treat a puppy?

8 months ago we adopted a retriever, he's 6 years old, he had a bad life on the streets for years, he was hit by a car and by his teeth you can tell he was poorly fed and taken care of as a puppy.

He of course has bad habits and is not trained at all, we've been trying to train him to pee in a place we have especially for him but he keeps peeing as close as possible to his bed and food/water plates. We take him out so he doesn’t pee inside and he does pee outside but he “saves” some pee to leave it near his bed.

He destroys everything he sees so we have to keep all doors closed to keep our stuff safe. He also can’t be near other dogs without starting a fight. He NEVER responds to a command, he doesn’t play with us, he has never learned anything from us. We actually saw a specialist and she gave us some tasks and tips that we’ve tried and nothing, the dog just keeps ignoring us.

I usually go to work during the week and my year old beagle mix stays home. Today I am trying to work from home and I just want him to sit somewhere in the house and relax- but if he's inside he's at the door barking and acting crazy hyper: he wants out on his 16 foot rope. I put him out and he doesn't want to come back in- I keep going out and checking on him and he's lying down under a bush. I have tried bringing him in several times but he just wants back out to sit (he has water, toys etc).

Is it possible the airconditioning is too cold inside? Or is he just used to being alone in the day? Is this wierd dog behaviour? Usually he'd rather be with me (to the point where he usually wants to be on my lap)

Hello,
We have an one year old chihuahua. He is spayed and very sweet towards to humans. His personality is more timid in general. We have had him since two month old.

He is a good boy besides he is very afraid of other dogs. Any dogs, any sizes even his own kind. All he wants to do is running as far as he can. To some dogs, his behavior causes them want to chase him more. We always keep him on the leash when walking outside to prevent accidents.
Can someone tell me how to teach my dog to social with others?

We are planning to go away for a short while at the end of this year and planning to put him to the care center. Really worried about his behavior to get along with others.

Please help
Thank you!

My puppy is about 3 months old and has been crated at night since she was 7 weeks. She goes into the crate at night on her own and does not whine or cry. She is finally sleeping through the night without a potty break, but I have one problem. She has been gradually waking up earlier and earlier. She first slept until about 6:30 which is early but acceptable, but now she has worked her way to getting up at 5:15. I will let her out like a potty break (no talking, walking or playing, straight outside and back) and then try putting her to bed again and ignoring her, but she just barks constantly until I get her up at 6. I've even started to set an alarm for 6 to associate the sound with getting out of the crate, but that's not working either.

Folklore? I think not, not anymore at least. The only time that I have ever heard a Newfoundland afraid of water is in a MYTHological book! My Newfoundland puppy HATES water. Not just baths, but the pond too! I could have sworn that ALL Newfoundlands LOVE water, can someone explain this to me? Please, if it IS true... How can I get him to like water?

I have an 8 week old shiba inu puppy that I am crate training. I have a blanket over the sides to make it like a cozy den. The radio plays as well. After 2 hours of playing, walking, and potty time, she is tired and ready for a nap. I am trying to get her on a schedule so she becomes slowly introduced to me being away when I start school in a month. However, every time that I leave the room she screams and howls! I have tried to put chew toys in there and a kong, but they don't help. She ignores them. The kong definately does not keep her occupied, she abandons it after biting the top off the cookie. I have not given in and let her out, and I tried to bang sharply on the top and reward her for being quiet. I tried staying inside so she could hear me and be comforted, and I tried to leave and see if she settled down (she was still crying when I came back in an hour). I have problems ignoring it because of the neighbors. She only sleeps when I sit down next to her. What else can I do?

We had a dog for over 20 years. She was with us before my son was born and my son is now in college. She is a 25-lbs cocker spaniel. She is old, not eating well, not walking well since the day she had something like a "heart attack". I don't know why the pet place refused to bath and groom her. She does not bark, bite or fuss. She is just old.

The vet said it's time to put her to sleep. We had a lot of good time together and we just do not have the courage to take her to the vet for the last time.

What should we do? If we should let her go, what is the best way to say good-bye? We have young family kids and we don't want them to think we "kill" our dog.

Have anyone done this before? Can you please share your experience? Thank you.

I recently took in a male pug from a woman who picked it up as a stray. I thought a companion would be good for my female pug. He has almost completely taken over the house and growls at my dog when she tries to be his buddy and a bit while they or we eat. My dog has always been great being home alone while I'm at work...but not the new dog, he does terribly!!! He follows me everywhere...and I mean EVERYWHERE constantly. And yes I do understand that I'm his owner and he's being loyal, but he pushes my female out of the way. The woman said that if it doesn't work, I can bring him back. What do I do???? Do dogs need to have other doggie companions or are owners just as good??

P.S. I have always been very good to my original dog and show her lots of love, play and attention.
