If you keep this animal, he will become "imprinted" to humans. And even if you release him, he will have little fear of humans and eventually be killed because of it. If you keep him, and someone finds out, they will come get him and destroy him because it is illegal to keep wildlife without a license. The outlook for this pup is grim no matter what choice you make. The very best idea would be to surrender him to a certified wildlife rehabilitator to raise and release. They would know how to properly care for him without allowing him to become imprinted. Perhaps you could call a local zoo who would take him. My personal fear would be that calling the wrong person would result in his death. But you really cannot keep him. You could get in a lot of trouble over it. I don't think an animal shelter is a good idea. They will destroy the animal.

Coyotes are not pets. They're really cute - but they are not pets. Contact your Department of Natural Resources - or whatever it's called in your state. They will place the cub (not a pup) with a certified licensed rescuer.
Trust me. That's the best way to handle this.
You can feed him puppy chow or if he's still nursing, use dog milk replacement formula in a small baby bottle (both available at the pet store) until DNR picks him up.

The provide help to should have is a organic international rehabing enable, that is an particularly long technique. you will not have the skill to maintain it as a puppy, the only way you may keep it truly is to get the enable and get it waiting for the wild and you will ought to have as little touch with it as available. in case you're decrease than 18 you may't obtain this enable. i'd call animal administration, they would recognize what to do and have the coyotes ultimate interest at heart. ----- Rach-Coyotes at the instant are not something like canines, they are WILD animals. additionally canines foodstuff in all probability does not be as stable as uncooked meat that's what their organic weight loss plan incorporates.

Call a vet or the city animal services! Ask them for a number for an Wild-Life Animal Rehab shelter. Call the shelter and ask them if they can take the baby coyote puppy! If they can then no problem if not? I don't know. It would be dangerous to raise it !

Contact you local Wildlife Commission... it may be a puppy, but it is still a wild animal..You have to have a license or something to keep wild animals like that, so I would hate you to get in trouble. I would start with a local vet and ask them where to start... It was kind of you to get the cub though so it wouldn't get run over too..

Take him to the vet and the vet will tell you how you can take care of it. If you have a wlmart in your town then go there and in the pet section they might have milk suplement that will help keep the pup strong unitl it is older, you could also do some research on the internet and find out what you could do if you plan on keeping it or letting it out into the wild when it gets older.

Aw thats so sad! But he sounds cute :] Dont take him to a place where they'll 'put him out'. I think that doing that would be wrong and unfair to the animal. Try contacting your local vet, or animal control. But make sure they know not to put him out. In my opinion and past experiences, I wouldnt hold him with bare hands, use thick gloves. Dont pick him up too much, and I would find a cage or something to keep him in until whoever you contacted has given you instructions on what to do.
I really hoped I helped :]

Raise it just like you would any other dog (puppy) including taking it to the VET. for shots mainly rabies shots. Coyotes are pretty social animals if you raise them from pups.
