Ask over and over and over again. What really got my mom was I wrote a contract saying that I would feed, walk and take absolute care of the puppy. Show her your ready by figuring out expenses and show her (maybe lower the numbers a little) Also explaing you have a place for the puppy. And you know how to prepare the house for it. Show her pictures of adorable puppies. And explain the situation at the animal shelter. Beg and Beg and Beg. Make her heart melt! Give it a month at most. And you should have yourself a little puppy!
Good Luck

Honey, if you find it that difficult to get your current animals to the vet to have them spayed or neutered, you are just going to keep having litters of little ones, and you'll never run out of puppies. Plus, there is always going to be some poor little puppy somewhere that is going to have to be put down. Realistically, you just can't take them all in. You sound like you have enough mouths to feed now, and don't need any more.
Where do you live, anyway? I thought that most rural areas had traveling vets that came around and did things like that for a lower cost. At least they do, here in Texas!
Maybe you could take the puppies you are trying to adopt out to the animal shelter to let them adopt them out. Then maybe your mom would let you have the other one.

why not get a part time job since its summer and save enough money to get your dogs you already own spayed and neutered. Also that shows you are responsible and can help pay for the cost of caring for the pets you already have. You may not get this one pup but your mom will see you are growing up and becoming a mature adult being a responsible dog owner. Sorry its not the answer you were probably looking for but its an honest answer. Enjoy the dogs you have. They need your love, attention and respect.

If you can't get all your dogs spayed and neutered, you may not want to get a new puppy. It sounds like you have a lot of dogs already. I understand you want to save that puppy, but what will happen when you get that pup out of the shelter and realize it's too expensive to care for all the dogs that you have? I would suggest you try to save up money to get your dogs spayed and neutered and take good care of the ones you already have instead of trying to take in another. Your unneutered and unspayed dogs will breed and produce more puppies until you get them fixed, so I do recommend that you try to get them fixed or else you're going to end up with puppies you can't find homes for.

Hate to sound mean and unsympathetic... but if you already have so many dogs AND puppies... and can't afford to get them spayed or neutered... I think it'd be the worst idea in the world to go to the shelter and adopt another puppy.
Your mother is absolutely right.
As for the puppy, it's sad that the puppy may be put down... but the REASON so many animals are put down is because people won't spay and neuter their pets!!!! Work on taking care of the animals you already have before looking to take on more.

Is your mom the one who gets stuck caring, feeding, etc. for all these dogs? That could be the reason she won't allow any more. It is hard work. Maybe if you took over a lot of the responsibility she would consider it. I have two dogs, two bunnies, one cat and a pond full of koi that I care for and believe me, it's not easy. I hope you can keep the puppy though, the thought of putting it in a kill shelter is so sad. Keep me updated! Good luck.

You already have 11 dogs - that you can't afford to spay/neuter. No wonder your mom doesn't want another puppy.
I'm sorry - but that's how it goes some times.
Speak with your shelter and see if they can help cover the costs of spay/neuter your present dogs - all 11 of them!

Dogs are very expensive. I wish I could find a place that would spay or neuter around here for under $250. Sounds like where you are is really cheap. It's impossible to give the ones you already have enough attension with that many. What happens if one gets sick or injured? You need to make sure you have enough to take care of the ones you already have.

tell ur mom that the do will get put down if its not adopted. i can see why ur mom doesnt want another dog but if it was saving a life i would get it for you. i think you write an essay on why it would be good to rescue the puppy in the shelter. and mabey do some more chores and spend lots more time with ur current dogs that way ur mom will see that ur responsible

i know it sounds terrible, but u cant have that puppy. u already have 4 puppies and u cant get them spayed and neutered. think about the cost of the shots and food. ask ur mom if u can keep one of ur puppies. if u promise u will b responsible and take care of it by urself she may allow it. but as 4 that puppy @ the pound, it may get a home b4 it is put down.
