i gave both dogs a flea bath last night, put spray on them after and then some over the counter flea oil. After i did that they started acting really weird! they were fighting and running in circles, just acting weird.
this isn't normal behavior for them. did i poison them? maybe i OD'd them on the flea killer? anyones dog ever do this?

You shouldn't use all of that stuff at the same time. You probably made them high on the chemicals you were putting all over them. It is possible to overdose your animals with too much flea medication. If they're still acting weird I would give the vet a call or take them in just to be on the safe side.

I doubt you poisoned them, however it may have irritated their skin OR they're just bothered by the smell of everything. My dogs act psychotic after every time I give them a bath, flea killer or not.
Are they still acting like that? Do they have any rashes? If not, then don't worry too much. If so, contact your vet (that's what the back of the box says if you overdose them).
Next time, give them a bath, and then put the flea oil stuff on them. Don't put the spray on, they already have enough flea killer on them. Use the spray 'in between' the baths and oil.
Also, what brand of flea killer oil (I'm pretty sure it's not oil... but..) are you buying? The cheap stuff DOESN'T work. Well, it might work for a day or two... From personal experience, buy Advantage or Frontline. Anything cheaper has never worked on anyone's dog I know.

Check the ingrediennts listed on all 3 items(bath, spray, oil), then check with the Vet. Some products may still use eucalyptus oil and/or resins in them! It's use has been curtail- ed,even though it's a natural flea repentent, because it can be toxic. If your dogs acting wierd is disturbing to you, call the
Vet. It maybe natural for dogs to do, but I myself, would rather have that assurance from the vet.
Hope your dogs are doing okay!

Give them another bath! Get it off them. Now, wait a day or so, unless they continue acting weird, in which case see a vet, but if okay after 1-2 days, get the correct Frontline for the animal, and apply it according to directions. I've tried all the cheap stuff, the all-natural stuff, and every single thing I tried, except Frontline, was no help at all. My Rotty is allergic to flea bites, so I HAD TO find something that worked.

Sounds like they have had a bad reaction to something. Might want to contact the vet. Fleas also cause the dogs to get worms so you have to worm them. A good thing to use is Frontline. It keeps the fleas off and away for months at a time. Only use the recommended dose.

They probably just felt good after the bath, and no fleas biting the c**p out of them, that's all. My dog used to do the same, running around like crazy, shaking vigouously to get the water out of his coat! Don't worry about it. The fleas will most likely be back tomorrow! They live in your carpet until a dog comes along and they hop onboard what is to them a big, hairy, mobile fast food joint!

For one if you give them a Bath with flea shampoo YOUR not supposed to use any other flea medicine using 3 kinds of flea medicine can kill the dogs!
The best product i have found to get rid of fleas is called Seven Dust ( it has the number 7 in the name sometimes)
it was originally intended to keep bugs off of gardens
but has been used for many years to rid fleas from animals
my dad uses it on all our outside dogs boxes, and sprinkles it around where they lay along with in the house on our dog and cat ( u don't need to pour the entire bag on them just sprinkle some on them and rub it in really well it is DUSTY), and we sprinkle it on the dogs bed, the couch and the carpets we let it sit on the couch and carpets for a few days before vacuuming

My dog always runs around like a nut after a bath. It's normal. Have you thought about using a topical flea preventative like Frontline? It really works and saves lots of headaches for you and the dogs.

Firstly flea baths dont work, get a frontline spot on from your vet, they will give you the correct dose for your dogs weight , the stuff you used could have irritated them but hard to say.

My dogs do this same thing each time I bathe them, even if I don't use any kind of flea soap or spray. It's just what most dogs do after a bah. They are excited that they smell good, and have pent-up energy from having to be 'calm' while you are bathing them. You didn't poisen them or anything.
