When you call a breeder about their puppies, what are some questions that you'd like answered? What do you listen for when you ask about a puppy that you are interested in buying? What's the biggest selling point that a breeder does that would make you buy a puppy from them? I'm intersted in getting a puppy for my son and I want to know what to ask and what I should expect for answers. Any help would be appreciated!

I was recently attacked by a pitbull that has attacked 7 other people in the past. The dog belonged to a friend of my fiance and I did not want to press charges or report the incident to the dog warden, instead I suggested the owner put the dog to sleep. Unfortunately, the owner refused to cooperate, at which point my fiance notified the dog warden and both of the owners pitbulls were removed from his home. I'm not familiar with laws throughout the US but I am from Ohio where it is illegal to own 2 pitbulls per household. I also know that the owner of these pitbulls did not have proper insurance coverage, so he faces a $3,000 fine ($1,500 for each dog.) The dog warden said that the owner will have to pay my doctor bills and my doctor has said that the owner will face felony charges. Is anyone familiar with vicious dog and/or pitbull laws? If so, what type of charges does this man face and how do I go about making sure he pays my medical bills?

My wife and I have been talking to a lady about adopting one of the puppies that her dog had. She is ready to give them away right now. She told me today that they are six weeks old. Is that old enough to leave mom?

I think that no matter what she is going to give them away this week so if I don't take the puppy she'll find someone else. I don't think she wants to keep them any longer (this was not a planned pregnancy)

I am getting a doberman puppy in a couple months. I keep reading how incredibly hyper they are and it makes me think back to the Jack Russell Terrier that we watched for a short time that was absolutely insane. He was in his own little hyper world and was to insane to learn simple commands or be disciplined. When they say dobermans are hyper are they comparable to the jack russell terrier kind of hyper?

Recently, I noticed my puppy showing signs of weakness and her eyes, which were usually a grey colour, now are of a yellow colour. That was a sign for me that she was sick. Her gums are also of a pale yellow colour. She was always vibrant and ate quickly but now its the total opposite. I went to the vet and all these people could of said was that they don't know what really happened and is unable to give any explanation. Can anyone give me some possible reasons to any of her signs and can provide something that I can do to help her.

He's very sweet and not aggressive at all. He gets a lot of attention at home. Don't want to hit him or hurt him but today we were playing with his rope toy and he jumped up and bit me in the forehead. He didn't mean to but it hurt! Anytime you play with him he tries to bite your hands or your feet. He will often bite on your clothing. Usually it doesn't hurt and he doesn't growl or act like he's attacking you, just sort of tugging on you. He has LOTS of toys and lots of space. Any ideas? I really don't have the time or money for training right now and I've never raised a dog before.

Is owning a pit bull with young children and a toddler safe? The yard is small, they own a much smaller chihuahua mix as well as a cat. Should there be concern if the pit bull is a purebred? Or is it true that only mixed breed pit bulls are giving purebreds a bad name?

I really just need some advice so I can have the best puppy for me. If this ploblem doesn't stop I will have to put him outside for good, and I really don't want to do that.
