We are going to breed my Dane in a couple months but I would like to know what I should expect..I have read lots of stuff but I would like to see it happen live thanks

Talk to you local vet, and tell them the situation, and they can help you out in watching a birth happen.

There isn't really much that you'll be able to do, except make her a soft bed, offer her water, and rub her belly a little if she'll let you. Other then that, all you can do is what you've read.

Other than standing by for support there really isn't much you should be doing. I provide my dogs with a proper whelping box. I first make sure the dog has been cared for and vet checked its entire life. Whelping is natural and unless any complication happen I leave my dogs to do it themselves. You don't want to interfere if all is going well.

Depends on where you live. Try going to a farm, they usually ahve lots of knowledge in birthing animals.

Be sure you also read up on and watch a newborn puppy having to be euthanized also......as this can happen frequently due to birth defects and whelping problems.

dog's give birth on their on don't mess with her call a vet for more information
