My son took home this good male pup from his fire dept and has had him 1 month. We are trying to find a good shelter for him to be adopted because this is a very good pup. We don't want it to go on to long so it will be easier to adjust for him. Thanks.

Go to www.hollithesidecardog.com There is a link for a Pit rescue network. He is now an American Staffordshire Terrier or a Terrier mix. It will likely be easier to place him in a good home with his new identity.

Petfinder.com is a good source for shelter listings. Here are a few in your area:
Michigan Humane Society - Detroit Center for Animal Care 313-872-3400

Anti-Cruelty Society (313) 891-1088

Detroit Animal Control 313-224-6323 -224-6326

DetroitHome Fur-Ever 313-897-4931

If they can't take the dog in, they may be able to assist you with finding a shelter that has room for the pup.

You sound like you're unsleeping of canines, having a severe ability breed that's now 16 years previous. in case your 8 month previous pit is that complicated to regulate, the breed isn't a superb tournament for you. as well that, your canines has shown aggression in the route of little ones ("barks in an noticeably scary way") and when you consider that he overwhelms you once you're even basically going for a walk and a canines passes through, i do not see this getting more desirable, yet doubtlessly a good purchase worse. i am hoping you may re-domicile your pit to someone who can artwork with the severe pink zone habit and prepare and socialize this canines, that would finally end up being a more desirable in good structure for someone or couple with out youthful ones or different animals. i can imagine how overwhelming it will be to prepare for a sparkling toddler with all those concerns on your shoulders. you do not opt for to watch for a disaster to happen. through how, i'm professional-pit bull, adore this breed of canines and they are commonly large with little ones, yet this one, in protecting mutually with your description, isn't. that's why it really is a disaster waiting to happen.

He will be euthanized. They are banned where you are.

He really does not have much of a chance.

Please visit my website and email me from there and I can try to find some options for this dog.

Pits are illegal in Detroit. Shelters will put him down and if he injures someone after you give him away to someone, you can be liable.....
