Recently, I noticed my puppy showing signs of weakness and her eyes, which were usually a grey colour, now are of a yellow colour. That was a sign for me that she was sick. Her gums are also of a pale yellow colour. She was always vibrant and ate quickly but now its the total opposite. I went to the vet and all these people could of said was that they don't know what really happened and is unable to give any explanation. Can anyone give me some possible reasons to any of her signs and can provide something that I can do to help her.

I would go to a different vet! Have them do blood work.

Yellowing of the eyes, gums, and other bodily tissues is the primary warning sign of jaundice in dogs. Regardless of the underlying cause, jaundice is life-threatening and should NOT be taken lightly.

It can certainly be caused by liver trouble, as others have mentioned. It has several other causes as well, to include some types of parasites, heart disease, pancreatic and other diseases, cancer, and several other possible problems -- all severe. It's fair to say that if your pup isn't treated, it will probably die.

You need a new vet, and you need them right away. Please don't wait.

Girl, go see another vet! Did they run tests on your puppy? IF they don't see signs of anything, the blood work will usually let the vet know what's wrong with the puppy. OMG... I would kill that vet! He took your $$$ and didn't offer an explanation? I would ask for my $$ back and go to see another vet. That puppy is DEFINITELY suffering from something. Please Please PLease go see another vet immediately. I have a Boxer and I know if the gums are not pink..... you need to take them to the vet immediately!

Have you tried another vet? Maybe a second opinion is in order.

The yellowing to me sounds like liver problems (but i'm not certain)

I would try to make sure she is drinking enough water. Not sure what else to say except seek more professional help.

I hope your puppy makes it.

Good luck

Yellow gums and eyes are a sign of LIVER FALIURE!!!! Either get to a vet ASAP, or the pup WILL DIE!!!! She needs blood work ASAP!!! ANY vet that would dismiss yellow gums and whites of the eyes is s MORON!!!!!!! GO NOW!!!!!

It is called JAUNDICE!!!! VERY BAD. Means the liver is not filtering out the bad things!!!

Read this and GO TO THE VET!!!

That's ridiculous!!! I don't believe that you took her to a vet!!! The vet would have ran blood tests, etc. It sounds like she is going into liver failure. That dog needs treatment NOW or it's going to die. It may already be too late.

all i know is that if they're eyes are clear, she is healthy, but i know that there is other signs to tell.if she always lay around, not doing anything, try taking her out, you know, go for a walk, get some excercise.
