My best friends dog just died, and they were really really close. I feel really bad, but I don't know what to say to him without sounding sappy, because I don't want him to think I'm a sappy girl. I also want to do something for him to make him feel better but he isn't that kind of guy that is all touchy feely. How should I treat him when I see him without having to say "I'm so sorry!" Because I think it will just make him feel worse. HELP ME!!!!

I have herd you can sell your puppies at 8 weeks, and I've also heard 6 weeks. This is my first litter so I'm a bit confused. I didn't know if the age varied for different breeds. I would very much appreciate accurate answers! Thanks.

I am 16 years old and want a dog. My friend's dog just had puppies and he offered me one. They are housebroken. Here is my argument. Tell me how concinving it seems to you. Suggestions welcome. Point gamers get reported.
I am 16 years old, and have the time and energy to look after a dog. I have had two dogs before (one adult and one puppy). Even though a dog is a family pet, I cared for both dogs with very little help from my family. I walked the dogs twice a day, fed them, and trained them. I believe I am very responisble. I have had A's and B's all my life (except in chemistry, where I fell one point short of a B) and I have babysat my younger brothers (7 and 11) many times. My brother (11) has a lizard that he barely takes care of. My parents are going to let him have another lizard so that he will have two. I however, took good care of my dogs when I had them.

I have had my dog Rosie for 5 years. She's 13 now and is getting really old. She has had 2 heart attacks, and it's getting harder for her to walk. I've talked to my doctor about medication and stuff but we both know that I should really put her down, even though it would kill me. I want to put her out of her misery so what should I do?

I just noticed that my shih tzu is keeping is right eye slightly closed. It's watering and it looks odd. It looks a little swollen but i don't think he was poked in the eye by anything. I'm freaking out a little because it doesn't seem to be bothering him at all. Can someone tell me a little about this. Should i take him to the vet, which would be my luck because it's closed today.

my dogs are winter breeds. when it gets really cold out i have a greenhouse that has an attatched furnace that they sleep in. there regular house is insulated and has a door on it. last night i went out to there house when it was about -15 celsius outside and you couldnt even see your breath in their house. is this warm enough? i have tried bringing them in the house but they just sit by the door and whine to get back outside. i spend every spare minute i have with them (usually between 2 and 4 hours a day) and we go to the offleash park at least every other day so the can socialize so they are not neglected. i just want to make sure that they are warm enough.
thanks

Ugh... I've got a husky/chow mix who stays inside. He's about 19 months old now. My mom is ALWAYS letting him jump up on her and she likes to give him "hugs"... I'm ALWAYS CONSTANTLY having to tell her to STOP letting him jump up. I finally said, okay, you can give him a hug once a day, but that's it. And you have to say the word 'hug' so he knows he's allowed to go up. But what does she do? She lets him jump on her all the time /still/. I told her you have to /invite/ him up, he can't just jump on you whenever he feels like it. But when he jumps on her for the Hell of it, she encourages it and hugs in 'n crap. IT"S SO ANNOYING! Then, her and my brother get mad at /me/ b/c they make /me/ look like the bad guy b/c I always have to fuss at my mom to stop letting Steele jump on her. Finally today, she got down on my last nerve, and I told her that she can't EVER let him jump on her again. Not even for a hug. I gave her that privilege to have a hug once a day, and she didn't listen.(cont)

first these bastards tell the management to remove my so called 'illegal' dog and after some serious persuasion on my part the management ruled that i could keep my dog (even though i own my condo and had my dog for 4 years, so based on the grandfather clause, they couldnt legally force me to do that). Now after the ruling, these residents tell the management that we shouldnt be allowed to let my dog urinate in front of the building. I swear these people have no life and everytime i walk my dog these dumb idiots stick their ugly little heads outta their windows and look at me with a befuddled and angry expression. So a.) how do i train my dog to not urinate right when he walks outside? b.) can they legally force me to keep my dog fron urinating in front of the building and c.) who else hates my neighbors?

My dog is 13 years old, and I taught her how to shake, wack people in the nuts, (she taught her self actually) and how to knock on doors when she wants to come in, instead of jumping on them. We taught her how to eat fruits, but not vegitables, (in all the same year) and I taught her how to sit when she was 9. I mean seriously I taught almost everything she knows when she got really old. If you are interested, she is a german sheperd.
