My dog does the same thing. Look at his paw to make sure nothing is in it. My dog just chews his feet as a habit, so I usually put something non-toxic that won't sting on his feet that doesn't taste good, and he usually stops. Whenever you see him start to do it, pull his paw out of his mouth and say "No!" in a firm, medium-loud voice. All training with dogs takes effort and patience, but the reward of a well-trained dog is priceless.

Well I don't have a dog, but my friend does and she has a bulldog. Her dog was rescued from an animal abuse center. She was starting to get scared because she was constantly chewing on her feet. So they took her to the vet and the vet said that she had a very miner infection. So the vet gave her some ointment and it worked and she was not chewing on her feet in about a week. I also think that if your dog is three or younger it might be going througha teething fase. So just take my advice and if it's older then three then go to the vet. but if it's younger it's probably teething. :)

My dog did the same thing, when she was a puppy,I think she had a separation problem,I think it started from being separated from her momma,I thought of why is she doing this~so whenever she did it,I stop her and rub her ear,and I tell her "I'll rub your ear" she loves it,its almost like when her mom cleaned her when she was little, just by saying and doing that it seems like there is even more of a bond between us,she stopped chewing on her foot, but she does want her ear rubbed!~It really worked well, give it a try!

I'm not exactly sure why...but my dog does the same thing. If shes a puppy, then its probably just looking for something to chew on. Otherwise, you could take a look outside for any sharp objects or something that would bother his feet.

A lot of dogs chew on their feet when they have food allergies. I would have a vet examine him for this. He may also be chewing on his feet because he is stressed or nervous.

He may be chewing on his toenails,do they need trimmed? Or he could have something in his foot that is bothering him. I would take him to the Vet and get his feet checked out.

Some dogs, especially if they're puppies, have a "gnawing habit" about everything. Fleas could also be getting trapped between his toes. Advantage is a good vet-recommended product, if he has them. Let the vet look him over.

I HAVE A SPRINGER SPANIEL ALSO. SHE CHEWS ON HER FEET SOMETIMES, AND I FIND THAT THERE ARE MATS OF HAIR BETWEEN HER PADS. SO I CUT THEM OUT. ALSO, YOU SHOULD CHECK BETWEEN HER TOES.....SHE COULD HAVE TICKS BETWEEN THEM WHICH CAN CREATE BIG PROBLEMS.

He could be trying to clean them most dogs do like to keep their tootsies clean.
But just in case check them over make sure there aren't any stickers or thorns stuck in them or sores between the paw pads
