Hey David ! I personally think your neighbors are ******, but it's a condo and you have to live with them , so let your dog urinate far away from your condo as possible.
First , clean the place where your dog urinated with breach and pine-sol. (Or you can use any product that eliminate smell)
Second, when you take out your dog(with leash), get his/her favorite toy and get your dog focus on toy. you run pass the spot and DON'T STOP for dog to urinate. dog with good ball drive will chase you for toy . when you get to the point where dog can pee, let him/her pees and praise the dog. Dog is amimal of habit. Once he sets the place to urinate, he will be OK.
I used to lived in condo with my dobermann. People are sucker for dog tricks. I used to demo my dog with obediance and tricks, and they loved it. Most people love animals. If most of your neighbors like your dog, than few bastards don't matter much. Get some obed. training (Specially off-leash) and few tricks. You will see the different in your neighbors.

The problem is that the rules are different for you (due to the grandfather clause) people hate it when they think someone else is getting preferential treatment. Some of them may have moved into your building because they thought no dogs were allowed, and they didn't want to live in a building with dogs. If the rules I got stated "no dogs" I would assume the whole building was "dog-less", my dogs are my children but I understand some people don't like dogs. As far a urinating in front of the building, you share that property with all of your neighbors...carry him to a place that will not bother them. I certainly do not "hate" your neighbors, I've never met them, and only have one side of the story.---Are you doing everything you can to be a good neighbor?

A: Best way is just when he does it use a stern voice and say "NO" (doesn't really matter what you say, just use the right tone) If he starts, try to pull him and hope he stops, eventually he will realize he shouldn't be doing it there.
B: There are a couple situations where I could think there would be a legal problem. 1: If the dog pea is killing the grass, they could say it is causing an "eyesore" or something of that nature. 2: If the dog goes #2 and you do not pick it up, then they could definately get you for that. Though either way the worst they could do is give you a ticket. They wouldn't make you get rid of your dog.
C. Sounds to me like your neighbors are serious *******. I find the best way to deal with people like that is to be as nice as you can to them. You have no idea how mad it makes them when they don't like you for you to be nice. Just by saying hello or have a nice day you can see it in their face, it is beautiful.

people in apartment buildings belive that dogs are the problems of everything, that they chew everything, that they ruin all the furniture and that they are just not well enough to be a man/womans best friend, but i believe that you have every right to have a dog there, as for the training him to not pee as soon as he gets out the door, take him out a couple of times when he doesnt have to pee, take him to a different place, and when he does pee, give him a treat or something letting him know that he went in a good place and did the right thing, and just small steps like that will help. No they can not legally force you to stp your dog from urinating there, and well, i hate your neighbors.

Being a dog owner and absolutely a dog lover,I have a couple of suggestions on the urinating problem first of all, when you take the dog out,be sure it isn't after having made him"wait until he can't wait any longer" to take him out, also when he starts to hike his leg, give a stern jerk on his leash and tell him NO in a stern voice and take him away from that area to another to "do his business" after a short time,he should learn that isn't where he is to "go",AND be sure to PRAISE him when he does just pass it by and go to the "other place" to do it. In some cases,it IS against the law to let your animal "relieve themselves" on public or private property, which to me is stupid because wild animals, aka squirrels, birds, chipmonks, etc all go wherever they chose to "go",but dog urine does turn the grass brown or yellowish and that is just a fact. (Cats are worse, and don't jump on me any cat lovers, just a fact). Now on to the other issue the "neighbors" and apparently they "hate" your dog, which is stupid in my opinion, since you have lived there for four years and OWN your condo,I don't see where these people have a right to constantly complain to Management about you, isn't that like being a Habitual Violator aka they make it a habit of constantly finding new things to complain about you/dog all the time. I would think the Management would get tired of listening to daily complaints and give them a warning about leaving you alone. I also would talk to the local Police Department about these people constantly harassing you, which is EXACTLY what they are doing. I agree with you, they need to get a life, and I have two dogs I would be more than happy to let them take for walks on rainy days for me so they would have something to do besides bother you. I don't "hate" your neighbors, don't even know them, but I would get tired of them and their constant "bitching" to the Management about me and file a complaint against them for harrassment with the Police Dept and the Management and see what happens after that.

Well, try to think of it this way. You share a front yard with all of your neighbors. They don't want to look at yellow snow or other presents your dog or someone else's may have left.
Personally, I think you should be able to have your dog. But if you work with your neighbors a bit you may be able to calm them down and that means better feelings all around.
When you take your dog out, carry him in your arms until you get to an acceptable site for him to relieve himself. Then go on the rest of the walk from there. There isn't any other way to do it because he's going to have to go as soon as he gets on the ground, so carry him to the back or wherever.
Yes, the management can legally make you take your dog to the backyard. Unless there is a clause in the rules that says anywhere is ok for your pet to go. The management is stuck in the middle of this and is going to want to keep everyone happy so they are within their rights to establish ground rules/etiquette for walking dogs.
Who hates your neighbors?? Well, I tend to like dog people a lot but I don't like their dogs doodoo in my yard.
Good luck!

Some people. *sigh* it's just pee. It's no big deal. I could see the problem if you weren't picking up poop, but that's a bit silly.
A. See if you can get the dog running right out the door. If they get hyped up about going fast, sometimes they forget about peeing until you slow down, or offer to spray the area with a garden hose so they can feel like it's clean.
B. I don't think it's possible to actually legislate where dogs go to the bathroom, but it's in your best interest to placate the busybodies so they don't cause more trouble.
C. I don't believe I much care for your neighbors either. :)
