already have a 4 month border collie, he is not left alone very much but i have been considering getting another, if i do decide to get another i would want to get one while Alfie is still a pup so they would grow up together, but am unsure if it would be best to get same sex or not, whatever sex we get (if we get one) they would both be spayed/neutured to prevent any breeding (not experienced enough for that). I have decided to get alfie done when he is old enough anyway. any advice on which sex i should get or if alfie would be better on his own. thanks.

I tried to absorb their pee or poo onto pee pad and newspaper (so to allow the scent to attach on it), but my shih tzu never return to that area again, will always find another spot to potty.

I love dogs and cats but have suffered from severe allergies and asthma my whole life. I am looking for a dog which won't provoke asthma and will have a calm temperment, we live in a community which won't tolerate an anxious or aggressive pet.

I have a wonderful new puggle puppy. I have noticed that although this little dog is very intelligent, I feel more "potty" trained than he is. In the past, potty training my dogs has gone very well and we hardly have had mistakes. My last two dogs were ringing a bell to go out within the first week of their training. Unfortunately, my sweet little puggle doesn't consider using the bell to go out into the cold and frosty air. He does go out side 90% of the time, but that is because we watch him like a hawk. My question is.... is there hope. It isn't that he isn't smart. At 15 weeks he can sit, down, stay, sit pretty, and even crawl. but...... will he learn to ask to go out to eliminate?

So, last night, my younger brother took some Children's Motrin for his headache. After he went to sleep, he didn't put the Motrin back and left it on a nightstand. Sometime after, my dog, Rory, took that bottle and drank the bottle.

I came home from school, and my mother told me that Rory has been throwing up.

I've been stressing ever since, and in one of her many vomits, there was blood. I started freaking out, and I broke down crying. I called my uncle, who is a vet told me that there was nothing I could do but support her. She's eating fine, and she's active. But she's just throwing up whatever she eats.

She's 10 -15 lbs. She probably drank about half the bottle. And I have no idea how old she is because I found her one day behind my recycling bin, lol. But Rory is very important to me, and I don't want her to die.

If you have some solutions, tips, anything...I'd appreciate it if you shared.

I don't know what I'd do without her.

I need some ideas on home made dog food. I have a 2 month old blue pit bull, and I don't think dry dog food is enough. I'm currently feeding him with Royal Canin Baby Food (Large Breed); but i don't think that's enough. I want him to have a strong massive body, not just like the regular ones. Maybe there's something else I can feed him, home made food, vitamins....etc....Any ideas would be much appreciated!

Okay.. I have a pitbull, sweetest dog ever (to me but shes has moments with strangers) okay so.. I put my other dogs toy away cause he was scared of it, so it was behind the couch. The pitbull had no idea where it was. Okay two nights ago she starts crying and whining like never before, I thought maybe she had to go out but no she only does that at the door, then I tried to play with her, no still crying. She stands by the couch crying. I get the toy out, she STOPS and leaves the room with it. Okay weird I thought but WHATEVER ya kno? The next few days she will NOT GO ANYWHERE WITH OUT IT! ANYWHERE! She doesnt want to play she just wants to lay with the toy. She wont chew on it (shes a pittbull, she usually devours her toys), its weird but its like she 'handles it with care' I take it away from her, she shakes and cries and wont stop till she gets it back? Is there ANY explamation for this? I think the toys possessed and want to get rid of it but she WONT allow it! Whats your opinion?!

My 8 and a half month boxer is strange. I read a while ago if you whisper in their ear everyday "I love you" they know what you mean. I have done this since I read it. The other day however I forgot and she was really naughty, she opened the fridge and got chicken fillets out, she chewed my daunhter new boots up , she basically wrecked my house! Do you think it was because I forgoet to tell her I love her????? Strange girl

My German Sheperd dog is very territorial and barks at everything and anything that walks past our fence. He also goes crazy and wants to attack every dog he comes accross with, specially small dogs. I run with him everyday for 45 mins to 1 hr to help him get rid of some of that energy, but still he is very active and will bark all day if I'd let him. I need him to calm down and not freak out every time he sees other dogs because when we go on a run I also take my baby in the stroller. He is very strong and sometimes I can't hold him down when I have one hand on the stroller already. He is getting neutered next week and I'm hoping that this will help him be less agressive. Will this work? or Will it make no difference since he is 18 months already? Please help!

He is my boy. Will be 11 years old in February and is a german shepard/labrador mix. He is slowing down. After all he is an old dog for his size. A friend said he might be turning the dish over because his cataracts are so bad. This didnt make a lot of sense to me.

I have a Maltese. I love him dearly. He is wonderful. The question is, his mom and dad have just produced their last litter together. Mommy is going to be spayed. I am thinking about buying one of his brothers. Is it a good idea or not?

For those of you that have more than one dog, would you do it again? I am at home every day, I don't work. They are great little dogs.
