Okay.. I have a pitbull, sweetest dog ever (to me but shes has moments with strangers) okay so.. I put my other dogs toy away cause he was scared of it, so it was behind the couch. The pitbull had no idea where it was. Okay two nights ago she starts crying and whining like never before, I thought maybe she had to go out but no she only does that at the door, then I tried to play with her, no still crying. She stands by the couch crying. I get the toy out, she STOPS and leaves the room with it. Okay weird I thought but WHATEVER ya kno? The next few days she will NOT GO ANYWHERE WITH OUT IT! ANYWHERE! She doesnt want to play she just wants to lay with the toy. She wont chew on it (shes a pittbull, she usually devours her toys), its weird but its like she 'handles it with care' I take it away from her, she shakes and cries and wont stop till she gets it back? Is there ANY explamation for this? I think the toys possessed and want to get rid of it but she WONT allow it! Whats your opinion?!

I do not believe in demonic possession. And I don't know much about pit bulls, except they seem to have a fragile psychology. I mean that pits have a notorious reputation of being well mannered dogs till suddenly something seems to snap & they can get suddenly viscious. Usually viscious animals are acting out of fear. Pits are trained to fight using fear as a motivator.

Your pup was afraid of a toy. You hid it. For whatever reason she got over the fear & now seems to have adopted it as a pup or something. Maybe she feels maternal. Maybe the toy is a token of triumph over fear. Who knows? Myself, I definitely would let her keep it. It seems to give her some sense of comfort or something. I am sure she will be playing again. She seems to be a happy dog. What have you got to lose by letting her keep it?

This is not so much an answer... I have 3 dogs and have never heard of such a thing! The crying & shaking part is a little creepy. My BEST advice for you... Write the Dog Whisperer! Ceasar Millan, maybe he can help you out. My Golden Retriever is very attached to his "baby" but we replace them often and he doesn't react that way. Good luck.

That goes to show ya animals do have deep feelings. That"s such a cute story. Let her keep it. The toy is not possessed. Enjoy her joy in caring about something so much. !

Depending on her age and whether or not she has been spayed she may well think it is her puppy. Some bitches in false pregnancy will collect things and "mother" them. In a few more days to a week she will probably be over it.
The only other thing I can think of is that perhaps she is just trying to keep it away from your other dog.

Your dogs toy possed I dont think so! otherwise the toy will be doing wierd things...mayby something scared you dog while you wern't around and the toy provides comfort to you dog, yes we all know that pit bulls are supposed to be tough, it sounds like she has formed a bond with this toy, if you love your dog let her be happpy and let her have her toy.
