What kind of a bad mom are you? Of course she was hurt, confused and felt unloved. No wonder she acted out in that manner.
If it wasn't your forgetfulness maybe she took the chicken fillets out with the intention of cooking dinner. Then she took a nap and decided against cooking. She chewed up the boots to teach your daughter a lesson in putting them away where they belong.
It is not right, but I sometimes think our dogs are smarter than we are. They are not strange, they are too intelligent. Tonight my Joseph looked at me and right in front of me peed on a rug. He walked away with his nose in the air. When he came back into the room he looked at me again and purposely walked the long way around the wet rug staring at me all the time. I think he wanted me to punish him. But, just to show him who the boss is, I didn't say a word to him. I just cleaned it up. Does that tell you anything???
I am going to start whispering "I love you" in his ear every day and see what happens. If he takes chicken out of the fridg. we are all in big trouble.................

Eight and half month old pups steal food and chew things. She could just as easily eaten some decomposing rubbish or chewed on an old boot she found outside.
She got the chicken fillets because you haven't made adequate precautions to stop her opening the fridge door and your daughters new boots shouldn't have been left where the dog could get them.
Who was looking after her when she wrecked your house?
No. I don't think she did all this because you forgot to tell her you love her . I think she is just being a dog and she sounds as if she is having a whale of time and knows she is well-loved without needing to be told.

She is still a puppy and puppies do naughty things.Dont leave anything within her reach that would be too tempting for her. My dog had two puppies 8 weeks ago, and my house is a wreck. Nothing is safe. ( new homes needed, anyone interested)!

Other then that did you give your dog as much attention as usual that day?
At that age they can get a little excited. We adopted a dog that chewed socks and shoes and wreaked the flat he lived in. We adopted him he has a big garden to run in, lots of toys to chew and keep him occupied and also company, our other dog.
Since we got him he has never stolen any shoes/socks or chewed anything that wasn't his.
Dogs love company, you need to keep your dog occupied with toys, make sure you don't forget to walk him etc.

First time for this type of behavior? She is Eight 1/2 months and could be teething...but yes they are creatures of habits just like you and your daughter...so if you were doing that every day, and this is the first time she ever has done this and it isn't related to something like new teeth coming in...well tell the darn pup you love her and don't forget again. She needs to know that just like you do.

It could be because you forgot to say it to her... But more than likely she was having a mad moment... My cats are quiet and just sleep all day but occasionally they all go mental for about half an hour then go and fall asleep somewhere lol

I don't think its anything to do with love, your puppy dog is only 81/2 months old and maybe teething, they all go mad at times, when I was training my puppy I put all shoes, boots, away!!! nothing wrong with your puppy thats what pups do.good luck.

If I forget to tell my wife I love her, every single day, she's just the same.
She tears things up, throws food about, soils herself etc.
I think it's a female thing!
