Our 2.5 year old male black lab dog has never lifted his leg to urinate. We had him neutered at 6 months of age, do you think that is why? It doesn't bother me at all, but lol, you should see my hubby outside trying to 'teach' him how to lift his leg!

i got a west highland terrior 5 weeks ago and she's now 12 weeks old but her behaviour is beginning to be a bit of a problem now.
anytime i'm around she keeps biting my ankles and shoes and trousers, when i get up in the morn, when i come home,if i just walk past she hops on me and hangs off the end of my leg and holds on for dear life ,growls and bites fairly hard.i've tried shouting at her which i know i shouldn't but it's so frustrating and it hurts although i know she's not being vicious,i've tried saying NO in a loud, stern voice but it makes no difference.
she doesn't do it to my boyfriend as much, does this mean she likes me more or she has more respect for him and none for me?
i'm really concerned about it,i just want a good dog who behaves and is fun and who can be like one of the family,i'm mad about her but i don't know what to do

My dog is a shih tzu, 11 months old and I have been advised not to have him neutered by a dog behavourist who believes that as he is a loveable, well tempered dog there was no reason to have him neutered until he is 3 years of age, hence avoiding medical problems in later life. He has also started weeing in our home and has on occasions weed in our friends homes where he has not done this previously. He has now on two occasions been playing with the children and then suddenly stops for no reason and gets a large erection and then releases sperm, this process takes approx 45 mins in which he is locked (to thin air!!!) and cannot move!!!. What do I do???????

I have 2 male golden retrievers, the oldest is 15 months and the other is 10 months.

I'm really indecisive about having them neutered. I know the why I should do its, to prevent roaming, marking of territory, tescular cancer and unwanted mating.

When do male dogs usually starting showing these behaviors (roaming and marking of territory)?

Right now my dogs have not marked anything at all and seem to have no desire to roam. My Mom and I both are responsible pet owners and wouldn't allow them to just run free other than in the backyard. Would they already have shown these behaviors or is the best yet to come?

The only problems we seem to have now is a bit of a dominance strugge between them and the younger one is more aggressive.
They are quite active amongst themselves and keep eachother occupied when we can not.

With the tescular cancer what are the chances and at what age would it become apparent if at all?

I have noticed as I have gone through and asked or answered questions thru-out the site that every time rotts are mentioned there is always someone saying how bad a breed they are why? I have 2 rotts and they have never been aggresive in any way, they are big and some do look mean but I don't understand why every rott has to be stero typed.

My partner thinks he could get one to be as obedient as a dog and it would never catch native animals.

I have a 3 month old puppy, we are having a hard time teaching him to tell us when he needs to go out. I pretty much just take him out every 2-3 hours so he doesnt have an accident. And he pees in his crate even when its small. Any ideas? Ive tried teaching him to scratch the door everytime I take him, but he isnt picking that up either.

I'd like to give milk to my 11 week old puppies, but i'm not sure if it's actually good for them. I don't want them to have diarrhea or any digestional problems. But if its good for them, then I will be happy to give it to them..thnx

We went to an obedience show and he was doing great I mean we lost only 2 points for heeling and figure 8 and 1 point on heeling free and the last exercise was the recall and he started coming front and then made a bee line to the gate so we NQ he did perfect on the sits and downs. The day before he started to go out but finally came front so we qualified but I lost major points on the recall our score was188.5 He has tried to go out of the ring at rally trials as well but since he is on lead I can coax him back. He is 2 years old and has been training about 15 months, I do not know what to do any advice would be great!!!

Our 1. year male German Spitz/Pomeranian dog is already potty trained (WELL, I thought lol), but since we moved into our new home he's been marking his territory in one particular spot in our living room, which happens to have hardwood flooring. I obviously have to re-train him or just be more consistant on this matter, but till then what type of product/brand can I use on HARDWOOD floors that won't damage it and will decrease the odor so he will learn not to make a mess on there OVER AND OVER AGAIN?! THANK YOU!!

vet but in the mean time I'd like to know what is going on. She started shaking and yelping when we touched her Sunday night. She had been inside all day so she hasn't eaten anything unusual. I had to take my mother to the doctor yesterday so I couldn't get her to the vet. When I got back she was better. This morning she was fine. This evening she was okay but would not let me pet her.
When I touched her she starting yelping again. She went into her crate. Now she is laying on the couch. She did let my husband pet her. She usually always comes to me and sits in my lap. I petted her the other night and she yelped so she may be skiddish of me now. She yelped at lot when we got her. She was dropped off and
we thought maybe she had been beaten. The vet checked her out and said she was okay. She's had her shots. Any idea of what is wrong with her?

I just got a puppy French bulldog about 3 weeks ago and I am having big problems to potty train him. I already had a Jack Russel and It was really easy training him without even using a crate. This time I am crating the Bulldog at night so he can hold it (I still wake up every 3 hours to take him out). I have been leaving him inthe crate also when I leave but when I am in the house, I let him walk around and he always ends up doing his business. I take him out everytime and reward him for doing it outside but I am starting to lose my tamper and getting very angry at him ( I know it's bad..) Can anyone give me a tip and also I would like to keep him out of the crate all the time just like my Jack Russel but I am losing hope. My wife is pushing to give the puppy away.. I guess I just want to hear that it'll get better....
