Depending on the breed, 10 isn't necessarily old for a dog.
If he's not eating, he could be having tooth problems. When was the last time he was in to the vet for a checkup and a dentistry check? When was the last time he was in for a yearly physical?
If he's acting normally otherwise, meaning not vomiting, no diarrhea, not lethargic, then there is probably a simple answer to your vague question.
A trip to the vet for a checkup is warranted.
Good luck.

Too old to eat? Nah.
How about a dental? Have you had this dog checked at the vet lately? Dental problems can cause pain when eating.
Eating can be a sign of many illness and even death. Consult a vet, that's your best bet.

No I don't think he is getting too old to eat. I think he might have some mouth or teeth problem so when he eats it is very painful. You might need to take him to the vet and get him checked. He could also have a twig or something stuck in his gums. Good luck. My dog was 18 when he died.!!!

take him to the vets it maybe some medical problem like a sore tooth or something like that which is stopping him eating, if the vet can't find anything wrong then try different foods for a while cooked meats or your dogs fave food maybe it is just sick of the same stuff and is being fussy

There are all kinds of food for different stages of your dog.Maybe try a SENIOR DOG FOOD..Or taly with a pet store, and maybe take your dog for a check-up with your vet, then the vet could see if your dog needs something special(for his bones and joints,etc.).Be brave,it will be alright, pray for your dog and most of all just love your doggy.I hope this helped you abit.Good luck, kim.

I'll go with the majority and say take him to the vet. Usually dogs just don't stop eating unless they're sick or have bad teeth. Hope he's OK!

Depends on the breed, but if he's not eating it could be an illness associated with old dogs or maybe the dog is eating less beause it is less active.

hopefuly he still has afew years left in him,if he has gone off food altogether even if you've tryed feeding him by hand,,then take him to the vets better to be safe than sorry,,but if u are putting his food in his bowl on the floor, mayed his old bones are getting abit stiff,so try putting his bowl abit higher,,plus he might just off his food, try some thing different,,when he do'es start eating again put alittle bit of codliver oil or butter in his food,,keeps the old joints moving abit better,,good luck with your loyal friend.

If an animal won't eat there is something terribly wrong. Take him to the vet ASAP.
