I have a dalmation/border collie X, who is a bit timid and doesn't like to be left alone since our older border collie/whippet X died, ao we want another dog for her as well as us. My husband wants a medium sized, easily trained dog. I though Lab, he says to big and heavy, he says Cocker Spaniel, but I don't know anything about the breed. Can anyone tell me anything about them?

It was about 10pm one night and a storm was coming.... freezing ,stormy, hard raining, lighting, thunderous night and my Shih Tzu "Mayla" had been in labor seems like all day long. Once the storms arrived it just seemed like everything started. It took hours waiting, watching, helping Mayla not to mention praying ...that all the pups would be fine. I had lots of coffee and hot cocoa that night, it was sooo cold. I wished everything went great and that there would be no late night jump in the car to the vets. But all went well we had three pups ....2 boys, 1 girl.... I spent all night just looking at them in their bed by the fire place ( Where Mayla loved to be) ....and watching over her. She was soo tired....but took care of her babies. I will never forget that experience. I really enjoy how it all played out, I have it on video so I can watch it when every I wanna see it. We were already video taping because of the strong storms coming, it was kinda scary. But we all got through it !

Ok hi! I'm Alana. I have a 10 month old teacup chihuahua called Lilly and a 2 year old male teacup Chihuahua called Zack. Both are pure breeds of the breed Teacup chihuahua. I wont 2 breed them now (I will start 2 morrow) but i need help on what to do. i really wont it for the money because i wont a car but it costs $14,600 so i need some money for it and breeding my babies is a good idea to me.

i dont have the money 2 do tests and stuff for them but i have a bit of money to buy a welping box for my little Lilly. my sister (Mary-Anne) said female dogs can have babies when they are 7 months old. i was going to breed her then but i was working and didnt have time. now i got fired, i have time to look after lilly and her puppies. is 10 months old old enough?

what do i need to know before breeding them and how do i do it? do i just leave them in the same room for a few hours? any help is good.

My boxer puppy keeps biting my hand while we play, i know this is normal and she is just playing but when i say no in a firm voice and ignore her she jumps to bite my face and keeps barking at me.
She also looks quite aggressive when she jumps at my face and continues to bark at me. Any suggestions on what i should do?

I am a homemaker, and since my husband takes a lot of business trips I get lonley and sometimes frightened.

I'm in and out of the house all day and every other month I drive 5 hours to see my family ( so I'd like a pet that can go with me.)
I walk every morning and night.

I live in a 2 story 1200 sq foot home- I DO NOT have a yard, but I live in a pet friendly area and I see my neighbors walking dogs everywhere.

So, what kind of dog would be best?

Is it better to rescue from an organization or the pound?

about six months ago, my eleven year old collie greyhound mix, got terribly sick, she was throwing up everything she ate, I took her to the vet, and they told me that the stem that was left over from her uterus (she was fixed) had become infected, and had to be treated with anibiodics over next couple of months, because she kept getting the infection back, and she was loosing wieght rapidly, because of her breed there wasn't alot to her any way. The last dose of antibiotics was 4 months ago, and the infection hasn't come back, thank god. But the problem is, we keep food out for her all the time and my kids are constantly feeding her from their plates and in the last three months is fatter than I have ever seen her, and I was wondering if it was dangerous for her to gain that much weight that fast. She looks great, and healthy and happy....like a puppy. I am just worried about what the extra fast wieght is doing to her heart and bones. Is this dangerous?

When we're in he doesn't (he has his bed, or the rug in the front room), but when we go out he jumps on the sofa. We know because a) he drools all over it, and b) we've caught him by peeking in before coming home.

How do we stop him doing this?

my pit bull puppy is only 8.5 week old....it's funny and weird though (never seen nothing like it).....today while i was holding him, i noticed that he was sticking his little penis out..(if you know what i mean)...anyways..i think this is a little bit abnormal behavior for him to be doing that at such a young age...

I'm thinking, what is this, people with money, or people just want to be eccentric or is this because they want to have a companion because they are very lonely and they don't like themselves. But the bottom of the truth is they don't clean up after the dogs and I step on their dog **** sometimes and how would they like it if I **** on the ground and they stepped on it right?

I have a half pitbull half boxer, that is having what i see as major behavioral problems. Withing the past 5-7 months he has gone from a bright eyed, active, happy dog... to a dog that never looks happy... He seems that hes dazed at all times, not aware of his surroundings. 95% of his day is spent walking in circles. He walks into chairs and anything thats in his way. It seems like he is burdoned by some sort of severe mental illness. I have taken my dog to the vet, and they dont know whats wrong. PLEASE HELP!!! I want my old dog back :'[.
