I have traveled many places in this world and have eaten things not normally available in the U.S., like dog, whale, dolphin, horse, etc.

Why is it that we don't take advantage of an abundant protein supply like we have in the overpopulation of abandoned dogs, cats, etc.? Isn't it hypocritical to chomp down on a burger or a hot dog and yet squeal when you hear about dogs being eaten?

We need to be more adventurous in our culinary lives and throw off the closed mindedness that prevents us from being more cosmopolitan like in places such as China, Korea, the Middle east, etc.

I live in the mountains in Arizona and Sat. my dog got his back paw pad cut really deep on some bob wire that someone left laying in the woods when we were out for our walk. He really bled a lot and the wound is quite large and deep. No Vets were open on Sat. because it's a small town. I'm told there is nothing you can do to repair a cut paw pad. My Vet prescribed an anti biotic to prevent infection. If this has happene to anyone else's pet can you tell me how long it took to heal? I wrap it during the day so he doesn't get dirt in it and at night when he is in I uncover it so it can dry and heal. He wants to go for a walk but I'm afraid he will start bleeding again. How long before he can take his morning walks in the woods? Also how long before the cut closes up? It's still wide open.

I have a 7 month mini daschund, and we are thinking about adopting a mini daschund puppy that is DEAF. I had posted earlier that she was BLIND but I must have had temporary insanity. I wanted to repost with the correct handicap. I want to know if she can have a relativly normal life and life span, or are other handicap's or health problems prone to happening? Thank you.

Where can I buy the cheapest K9 Advantix for my two dogs??? It seems that mostly everywhere is the same except for a couple of dollars. Does anyone know of a huge deal I can find? We all know that stuff isn't cheap!

.. and it's causing a lot of other dogs in the neighborhood to loiter around my house (ie - crap in my yard, bark at my dog, dig holes under my fence, etc!). I know the female dog in heat next door is having the time of her life (last night the next door guy had to spray the hose at a male dog to get it off of her), but it's driving me and my neighbor nuts. He's had to fix the fence twice and put bricks next to places that have been broken more than twice. Any suggestions about keeping the male mongrels out of our life (besides fixing the female).

I am having troubl with my dog watching me while we heel. For the last month I use treats and she only looks up here and there. Is it just that it takes awhile before they start looking up at you? Cause I have been doing this for quite sometime and I really see no improvement from when we started. If it isn't I would like some advice in what to do

I have a sharpei and it's very difficult to cut her nails because i guess it's one of their pet peeves or something. She absolutely hates it and is starting to get violent when we try to grab her feet to cut her nails. Can anyone offer some advice before i go to the Vet to ask?

My roommate got a puppy and he has lived with us for a few months. He still has his puppy teeth but I'm not exactly sure how old he is. It's a Golden Retriver puppy who weighs about 25 lbs now.. male

We are in an apartment and she is really neglectful and I am always taking care of her dog... I have to wake up and take the dog out..

the dog constantly wants to go to the bathroom which is really annoying when I'm trying to study.

He cries and cries, there are two cats in the apartment too.

I let him run around some but again it's hard to get anything done because he chases the cats, will chew up everything and could piss and poop on the floor.. so when he is out.. no studying for me.

I'm really tired of all this.. I love animals and know they have feelings but If we got rid of the dog at this age would it be really cruel.

Would it mess with him psycologically because we abandoned him....
Anyone besides kids, maybe a dog breeder or vet that can give a good answer

i have 2 staffy puppies and of course i want to give them the best diet possible, they are 14 and 16 weeks old, and a couple of weeks ago, the female went right off her food, we were feeding her complete dry food, a friend recommended webbox chubs as her dog loves it so we have been feeding them both this for a week or so and they love it. however i have just read the back of the chubb and get this...it contains 81% moisture, only 6.5% protien, 8.5% oil, 0.4% fat and 3% ASH!!!!!! can anyone tell me what is the best meat to give my babies?
