Labs are naturally friendly dogs, but can also be very protective. This new kitten coming into his home is not his idea of fun, but it shouldn't be too hard to get them use to each other and soon playing. Since they are both still young, I would get them both in your lap or on the floor as long as you can control them with out fear. It sounds strange, but show the puppy that the kitten is nothing to fear. Giving them attention at the same time is a great way to do this, petting them both and praising them when they sit calmly. Don't forget, that animals are going to test their boundaries same as kids, so don't freak out if they do hiss, growl, and claw a bit, they will figure it out and soon be sleeping and playing together.

I have a pup now with three cats. I dont make the cats go near the dog I think tha frightens them even more being forced to do something that they arent ready for yet. I let my cats just come around when they are ready to. It took about 3 days for two of my cats to come around. They will go and check the dog out and if the dog gets to close they will swipe his nose with their claws. He has yipped a couple of times but that is the only way he will learn his lesson by not messing with the cats.

The kitten can protect himself if he needs to , but just watch the lab he is bigger he wont kill the kitten but he will get rough with it since he wants to play. When he wants to do that just swat his behind or his no and say bad dog and he will learn .

At perfect i'm skeptical about this. that's a lot extra perfect to introduce domestic dogs to grown cats then any opposite direction round. if you're particular you want to attempt this then it is going to take a minimum of two human beings to attempt. sit down in a chair with the kitten and convey each and every canines in a unmarried at a time. be particular someone good brings the canines in. If the canines nor cat freak out then puppy both at the same time. both human beings ought to stay alert as you're one snap faraway from disaster. If even one canines has a foul reaction to the kitten then that's bye bye kitty. If each and every canines is happy with the kitty, with you holding and petting both, you could locate how they're nostril to nostril. again this very risky for all in touch. canines and human beings can get scratched and Kitty might want to get a lot worse. in case you try this be very alert and careful. it is going to take time to be particular all is properly. good luck!

put the kitten in a small Carrier thing, and release the dog! See What Happens. Then, once they get used to eachother being around, unlock the cage door.

start slow. allow your dog to smell the kitty on you and vs. then start letting them play or alone for a few min. they should get used to each other or stay out of each others way.
