Don't know what it's called but from what I understand about Boxers and like breeds it is common. Had a friend with the same problem. He took his dog to the vet and got some drops that have to be put in the dog's eyes daily. Hope that helps.

It is not a big of a deal my Pups have them too. If you think it is a big deal then go to pet store to buy those tear free bottles they will also add cottons and stuff for you maybe there will be this stick. You have to carefully put one drop of it on and put it by the corner of your dog's eye. But if you don't trust me then just go to the vet and check but it might cost a little. Good Luck!

I have a gr8t dane with the same kinda eye goop....After the vet ruled out foreign objects, infection...ect.... we discovered that he dosent produce tears like he should. we put him on special eyedrops and he seems to be doing much better now, not as much goop in his eyes. I'd say it would be a good idea to have it looked at by your vet. At least that way you know if everything is fine........

in layman's terms those are eye boogers... just like we get. it is just her tears washing her eyes clean. (it's sticky bc it is mixed with dirt and dust. she is closer to the ground than we are.) she MAY have allergies. i wouldn't worry unless you are noticing a big problem or more than usual tearing. just wash her face every day with a damp paper towel. you might mention it to your vet, but i doubt it is anything to be very worried about. :)

also, pay attention to see if she paws her eyes any - some dogs with cataracts or poor vision will tear more bc they squint trying to see - sort of like us getting a headache from squinting when we are near sighted. if you think she is having vision problems than you should definitely get her checked out.

If it is in the corner of her eyes then its eye boogers juss lyke we get only they get them more often. If it is ON her eye and its green, get her checked out becuz my dog had sum green directly on his eye and we had to put him to sleep becuz he was so bad.

you should take him to the vet if it gets any worse he could have an eye infection and may become blind (just trying to help)

eye boogers, pretty normal unless they start getting thicker and green or yellow tinged, just wipe em off like you would your own, moist papertowel or t.p.!Probably allergies add to the problem.
