I just wanted to post this so as to get tsome more awareness out about heartwormmm..... I do not know if it is allowed for me to awnser my own question but i am....

Dogs ge heartworms by misquitos..... they bite and infected dog then buite and uninfected dog transporting the larva to new dog.... Please get you dog on heartworm preverntive... heartworms is the number one killer of dogs in the u.s.

I have recently become pregnant and I have 4 pitbulls. My two males are having dominance issues between each other and the hair of 4 dogs is becoming too much especially with a baby on the way. They are extremely loving, big lap dogs and I need to find someone who will give them good homes. I am not selling them, I will give them to a good home with no other male dogs. Both of them will be two in December. One is dark red with a red nose and a white collar and paws. The other is brindle colored with a black nose. Detroit area only, unless you are willing to drive to pick them up. Up to date on all shots!!

that found its way into out back yard. We have a fence with electric wire so the dogs can't get out. Anyway i know that cats and dogs don't get along with each other but i am still a little freaked out about them killing the cat. I have two young children I was just wondering should I be concerned or am I over reacting about the situation?

i have one dog that likes all kinds of veggies lima beans peas carrots corn onions tomatos squash etc

i can even give him an ear of corn he will sit and eat all the corn off and leave the cob for me to throw out :P

the animal dr told me that he was allergic to dog food :O and could eat cat food and he does but not very much..he was doing this way before i started letting him eat people veggies so it is not because he is spoiled :P

how do i get my dog to eat more animal food?
he will eat a small portion of at least two veggies a day is that ok for him?
i do not want to stop giving him veggies because i think he will stop eating competely ...help?

I am new to this puppy thing and was simply asking if it is safe to keep a puppy in a garage. It's a yes or no answer. The garage is empty. It's a brand new house and I was thinking of putting enough water and toys and food for it. I didnt want to enclose it in a cage cus i thot it needed space to play while I was gone. I plan on using a crate while I am home. I am also new to the area and dont have family or friends to walk the puppy while I am gone. So I am thinking of as much alternatives BEFORE I get the puppy. Thanks for all the people who answered the question rather than condemn me.

I really want a dog which is good with cats the most dog i want is a beagle but we are out weedays because there is school and jobs but i love dogs as i grew up with one who sadly died when i was 6 and then we got another one called bazil but he was a missing dog and his real owner found him and took him home and then dad said we cannot get another dog. But i want to persuade him to get one but i cant and mum wont let me. Our Doberman, Rose, will be 4 months old in a few days. Up until 2 weeks ago, she had never had a #2 accident on the floor inside. Now, all of a sudden, we're finding packages around the house. Somehow, we never catch her doing it! We are taking lots and lots of time to see that she goes outside and has plenty of time to do her business. Last night, I took her out. She made a sizeable deposit, then came in and 20 minutes later, made another one in my bedroom. It's not loose at all so it's not like she can't wait. Why is she doing this??????????????????

SHANGHAI, China -- A county in southwestern China has killed as many as 50,000 dogs in a government campaign ordered after three people died from rabies, official media reported Tuesday.

The five-day massacre in Yunnan province's Mouding county spared only military guard dogs and police canine units, the Shanghai Daily reported, citing local media.

Dogs being walked were taken from their owners and beaten on the spot, the newspaper said. Other killing teams entered villages at night, creating noise to get dogs barking, then honing in and beating them to death.


Owners were offered 63 cents per animal to kill their dogs before the teams were sent in, the report said.

The massacre was widely discussed on the Internet, with both legal scholars and animal rights activists criticizing it as crude and cold-blooded. The World Health Organization said more emphasis needed to be placed on prevention.

What can we, in the U.S. do about this? This is terrible!!!
