Every dogs in the neighborhood howls when they hear a police or firemans' truck sirens,are they trying to imitate the sound or is it because it hurts their ears?

becuase it is there blood wolfs are what dogs come from and when a wolf nhears a howl they howl back answering so since sirens sound like howls they answr back once again its in there blood the two people above dont know anything my mom studys animal behavoir

A dog will bark or hoal when they hear sirens bc it is a high pitched noise which often dogs dont like bc as we all kno they have way better hearing then a human they can hear from up to atleast 2miles away so plz dont be frieghnen and think something is wrong with ur dog it is just natural. All u can do is let them kno that they are ok good luck

None of mine do that. I have three. I once was told by an online friend hers only did it once in awhile, come to find out it was when someone had died. very eerie. I think he senced something.
