From your wording and question, it's obvious that you don't know anything about breeding and didn't bother to find out. You just got 2 same-breed dogs and hope to make a profit from them. Do Not breed your dogs until you KNOW some facts. Is the female at least 1 year old? Is the male at least 8 months? Have you made sure they are healthy, taken them to the vet for shots and tests? Can you afford the vet fees that come with caring for a pregnant female and the resulting litter? Will you take them to the VET if there's a problem during whelping? Do You Know What WHELPING is? Do you have buyers for the pups or do you just plan to have them, keep them in the laundry room or on a box on the porch for 6 weeks & put an ad in the paper? Do you plan to buy the shots and wormer from the Co-Op & give it to them yourself? I won't bother to tell you NOT TO BREED because YOU WON"T LISTEN. So, just read everything you can BEFORE you let them "get it on" BTW it's called BREEDING. Your other ? is funny, too. "How long will it take 2 dogs "in heat" to get it on?"

well first off I would jjust like to say from the way the question is worded you really should keep them apart.. If you do not even know the bacics of dog breeding how are you ever gonna handle raising a whole litter of 4-15 pups depending on size of dog and breed. But to awnser your question.... the heat cycle of a ***** is 3 weeks.....

week one= comming in heat... you will notice dripping blood just like a human.....

week 2: breeding week... this is the week she will stand if she is gonna....... If you place your hand on her but just infront of the tail if she is gonna stand it will swing up and tothe side at just this touch.

week 3 Going out... another week of bleeding... .Please prevent them from mateing... even if they are pure bred..... there are to many dogs that die every day... can you be absolutly sure that your pups wont be part of thoses in a month or a year????

Shouldn't take long at all! How long has the female been in heat? My female was in heat for approximately 4 days before she was willing.

A day or two..depending on how the female is...sometimes she won't except right away. I don't think its a good idea to breed them though....in my city alone every week they put to sleep over 100 dogs a week and more than that for cats.

Let me just say this - If you cannot answer that question yourself then you do not need to be breeding your dogs! Breeding dogs is something that you research first, then prepare your surrounds for before you ever even consider it. BE smart and responsible, do your homework before you breed. You're dogs and future pups will be the better for it.

No guarantee they will. Female canines reject most dogs that come calling when they are in heat. The female will chose from only the finest specimen to mate with.

My female rejected over 20 "suitors" who came calling when she went into heat. Then, this handsome, older, huge german shepherd came trotting over the mountain. Her tail went up and she sashayed around like a hooker! LOL

STOP BREEDING!!! GET YOUR DOGS SPAYED AND NEUTERED!!!

Don't you know how many homeless dogs are euthanized every year because yahoos like you are constantly like "I's got two dawgs and they gonna make some puppeez cuz I likes some puppeez. Dehr."

You are playing God with the lives of living creatures. Just KNOCK IT OFF!!!

Unless you have two purebred dogs, keep them apart.
