I don't eat meat stuff after 3 days but I hate to waste it. I cooked some strips of pork with taco seasoning to make wraps. I forgot about the leftovers. If I feed her the pork should I rinse it off first? She is a 7-month old golden retriever.

I have an American Eskimo that I take to the bike trails. I rollerblade w/her so she can run as fast as SHE wants, I'm careful to let her decide how long she's going to run. So far, I've taken her 3 days in a row. Monday and Tuesday she ran 2 miles at a full run w/ no problems. We stopped at 1 mile and I gave her a break and some water before we went back. Yesterday she only ran at a light pace and only about 3/4 of a mile. I let her walk to the mile mark and a little way back, she kept lying down so I picked her up and carried her the rest of the way.
When we got home, she was jumpy and playful and full of energy just like the other two days. She played with the neighbor's dog and seemed fine.
Am I excercising her too much? The last thing I want to do is hurt her, but she soooo enjoys running...

I love dogs. When people bring dogs into the office, I love having them around. It is nice to have a furry friend, and it lowers the stress level of the office.

What are your thoughts on whether dogs should be allowed in the office?

My dog is 1 year old and is trained to go on wee wee pads. I have never had a problem with her until I brought home a new puppy a week ago. She has been peeing anywhere now as if she were the new pup. I'm thinking she may be doing this out of jealousy that there is a new dog in the house. Does this mean I have to retrain her? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Why do people on here give make mean , nasty comments, give hateful advice or just inaccurate advice, or critisisms and then wont allow people to react to their "abuse"? If you feel free to be hateful to others or insult them, why cant you take the response they will give you? If you want to be mean and hateful in your answer, you should at least give the question asker the opportunity to respond to your insults. Why do you block your e-mail? This question is especially to the people giving hateful animal and parenting advice, cause they seem to be the most self-ritious of all.

Why do some dogs, I know not all dogs maul/kill cats? And why do some cats kill mice? I know and believe animals are not wicked, they do not kill for pleasure, they kill for food or self defense, that has been proven and no one will convince me otherwise, therefore I just don't understand why some pets choose to kill eachother, what is going that we hear of a stray dog or something killing a cat or mauling a child or something?

I have a 14 week old Lab puppy and I adopted him from a humaine society when he was 6 weeks old. On his papers from the humaine society it says "black mix unknown" then when I took him to the vet for his 1st check-up they put on his papers "black lab mix". But! I've had several people who say they breed labs tell me that he's not mixed, that he's full lab. And I really don't care either way because he's my child and I love him :)
... but, is there any way to REALLY know if he's mixed or pure?

I've got the greatest dog, a female doberman. However, about two years ago, when she was about 1 1/2 years old she started chewing on the throw pillows on the couch. Only occassionly. Then she stopped. Then about four months ago, she chewed up my bedspread. So I locked her out of my bedroom. Problem solved. Then last night, she chewed up on of my throw pillows on the couch. She has lots of toys and chewy bones. So why does she chew on my pillows and blankets?

I have heard alot of people say this about people who "back yard breed". Why does breeding our pets make us stupid? Many of you have asked why we do this when dog shelters are so full. Many people, when they choose to get a dog, dont want a mutt, an older dog, or a dog that they dont know its background. I know that this is exactly how I felt.By getting a dog from an individual, they know they are getting a purebreed(something many dog owners want), they can see the parents, and they can choose their own specific color, size, age, sex and not just be choosing "off the shelf". Just like when a couple chooses to have an individual have a baby for them, instead of adopting from an orpahnage. But this however is widely accepted, even with all the kids that need homes.I have grown up around people who do this "backyard breeding" as you call it, and these dogs go to good homes, they arn't abandonded on the streets. So why are we called selfish for doing this???

My fiance and I just bought a puppy he is a Papillon ,Shetland Sheepdog mix and we paid $499.00 before taxes did we get ripped off? Isnt he just a mutt now cuz hes not a pure bred dog I dont know much about dogs and I not really a dog person so for me to pay $499 for a dog is kinda insane in my eyes For that much money I could buy like 50 cats instead. we did buy him from a pet shop so is that just their way of screwing ya out of cash
