Maybe nothing. She is either gagging on long pieces or eating grass that has pesticides on it and the chemicals are making her ill. It is a myth that dogs eat grass because they have an upset stomach, They eat it because they like it. End of story. If she is throwing up at other times as well, see a vet.

Dogs do this when they need to vomit for any reason from top to bottom. 'Top' meaning if they are anxious or conflicted they may do that (e.g. domestic disputes, dominence conflicts with humans or other animals in the house). 'Bottom' meaning if they can't poop, they try to clear out the gut from above (e.g. are constipated or have anal gland problems). Or, if they are being over fed and taking it, they may later compensate by inducing vomiting (I call that bulemia by proxy!). Any intra-abdominal or metabolic problem can provoke vomiting too. If this is new behavior & a persistant pattern, you must see a vet. Having said that, dogs will (for example) nibble at sweet new grass or certain weeds just because they taste good in certain seasons & then eat so much of it they will vomit it up. Again, if this is a new & persistent pattern your dog needs see a vet.

Dogs with upset stomachs will eat grass to purposely vomit. Something about grass won't sit in their stomach right and they vomit shortly after. Make sure not to switch food brands too often or giving them too much people food. That can upset their stomachs and then they actaully want to eat grass to get sick.

Dogs do that. It's to clean their digestive tract or something stupid like that. You really wouldn't think that they'd be throwing up for their own health, but they are. All dogs do it. Maybe stop her from eating grass when she's out.
