I just got a puppy today, he is a small, white, bichon frise. I don't want to name him something common , but I don't want anything weird.

She keeps eating the feces of my other pets and I don't know how to get her to stop. I know I can mix a powder into her food that makes her own waste taste bad, but that does not solve the issue of her eating my cat's waste...help!

my pit bull is 4 mos old. she stays in the back yard and so far its been really hot from 98-104 degrees this summer and really cold at night i leave her plenty of water and food , she's out there all day.but i feel bad for her being out there in the heat and then in the cold during the night. bf says '' its a dog they are use to this, don't baby her'' i bring her in the house for a bit but he doesn't like it. am i paranoid or too protective?

She will only pee/poop outside when she wakes up. Other than that she won't. Instead she will play, eat leaves and go in the dirt. We take her out several times a day too. Whats the best way to make her go do her business outside?

If we decide to show our dog, what colors do judges prefer and or accept. Our "golden" is very red. Many people ask us if he is an Irish Setter. He is definitely a pure bred golden (I saw both parents at the breeder and she is a very reputable breeder too!)
He has a gorgeous golden "block head" and is very intelligent. And as many Goldens tend to be, he is also an attention whore (I say this affectionately of course).
The extend of showing him would be local shows (We're not headed for Westminster here)

We just got a Ridgeback puppy who is 5mo's old from a shelter. During the day when we are not home he is in his crate & when I come home for lunch to let him out, he has already peed in it. Is there a way to get him not to do this or will he grow out of it? I'm not sure if I should scold him -- and haven't so far b/c he is a puppy.

I'm really scared of my new dog and I dont really like to go by him a lot cause he growls and barks often and that scares me.LOL. He also looks at me crazy. I dunno what to do??? Any advice? I'm adventually have to go by him soon cuz I'm the one who feeds him and he goes crazy when it comes time 4 food, he like jumps up and down and straches on me and my older siblings won't feed him and I can't let my younger sister and brother feed him. We took him 2 the vet and the vet said he's perfectly healthy and has no rabbies at all, but he acts like he has rabbies? He's a golden retriever and he looks soo innocent, but kinda isn't. My parents think we should give him away, but I dont want to even tho he is crazy sometimes

I was cleaning up after my puppy and i noticed a white worm alive in her poop. I gave her stronghold(liquid to put on the back of dogs/cats necks to kill fleas and worms) a few days ago so i don't understand why the worm was alive. This is the first time i've noticed any worms. What should i do?

My 8 year old Shih Tzu has tapeworms. He does NOT have fleas or anything. I gave him 34 mgs of praziquantel (FDA approved). Is that enough? My friend says I should give him another 15 mgs. Can anyone help me out with this situation? I have never experienced anything like this before. I would greatly appriciate any advise or comments. Thank you.

My dog is really really really scared of certain men. We got her from the pound and I guess her previous owner( guy) beat her. So, whenever my dad gets even the slightest bit mad at her, and uses the a slightly louder voice, she pees and pees! Then, he gets even madder, which makes her pee even more. Does anyone know how I can make this stop or at least get better? Please help!

I am thinking about changing my dog to a homemade dog food. Is it better? Also is it that much more expensive? And what is a good recipe. I don't know if this makes a difference, but I was told I would need one that can give my dog more energy since she needs it.
