I'm looking to purchase a dog. I work full time. Have two children (6 and 12) and am moving to a condo with a small yard. I've always had big dogs... looking for something small for smaller living space...

Dogs cannot appreciate art, cocktail parties and crowded social events? Why do owners insist that their "mutt" is so cute and refined that they belong at such events?

My dog has been sick for a week and won't eat. We give her, her normal food, treats, other things she likes but end up having to force feed her peanut butter (which the vet reccomended to give her). The vet said to feed her cheese and other things but she just wont eat. Help?

In case you didnt know:

The dogs stay in a small kennel on shredded newspaper all day unless they are running. If you ever visit a "Adopt a Retired Racing Greyound" facility, you can see that many are very thin and have cuts and abrasions because they were not taken care of. Many die every year by euthanasia simply because they could not run fast enough.

i'm looking to buy a medium or small dog for my daughter and i really adore puppies. i'm still undecided to get a puppy because i'm usually at work a lot and wasn't so sure if i had enough time to train it. anyhow for some reason i would prefer a pup than an older one. so is it really hard to train a puppy??

i love my dog soo much and i'm his favorite person in the family. he sleeps with me and does everything with me. problem is: his other best friend is my cat. they absolutely love each other!! my cat loooooooves my mom tho and sleeps with her and does everything with her. so when i move out, do u think that my dog would be happier with my mom and my cat and my dad, or with me? i can't take both, because my mom loves my cat too much.
(she loves my dog too, but knos that he likes me the best. :-)

he just doesn't listen. at all. unless i have a treat. do u think obedience lessons will do him any good if he has such a hard time listening? he's a chihuahua, and i kno they're not supposed to be the best to train....
how will obedience classes help? what's the difference between going to a pro, or jus trying to do it at home?

I had a Yellow lab and I just loved him! I love the kind, funny, obedient, loyal personality of the labs, but unfortunately I can't have a big dog in my house now so I'm looking for a smaller dog, with the personality of a labrador retriver, and that doesn't need a lot of cosmetic maintenance, do you know a breed like this?

i THINK i want a small female dog because i have heard that they dont "mark" places like a male dog. I have 2 outside dogs that just wont co operate in the house, door bell rings and they just lie there, plus they are NOT housbroken and it appears for them its harder that if i had a YOUNGER small house dog...THANKS...Tony

I have a 3 1/2 yr old English Bulldog, and is a very sweet lovable dog. When someone knocks on the door, it doesn't phase him but I want him to bark at the door when someone knocks so that people know there is a dog in the house. Most dogs have a natural ability to pick up good people vs bad people but not this one LOL. We had someone break into our car once and the guy came back and returned my wallet with everything in tact (no money or credit cards were even in there) and asked for a reward for finding it etc. Well, it would've been nice for our bulldog to bark and make his presence known. Anyone with any ideas?

My puppy is a male American Eskimo. I have two other Eskies but they never barked as bad as Storm does. He keeps us up all night whether he is outside in the kennel or inside in his crate. We try tp keep him inside but he disturbs us so much that we end up taking him outside.
He is healthy and well fed he just wants constant attention,I guess.
